@nancy75 yes but accepting who we was as a person and coming out as gay is different to just cheating.

He did cheat and he shouldn't have but he's stood up to his homophobic bullying dad and his homophobic brother.
He told Whitney the truth and did genuinely love her.

You could be onto something there, SoupDragon - although it was Karen that was borrowing money this time, is there a chance that Sharon might borrow the cost of a Portuguese villa from Ben's anonymous mate? Ben would love having such power over her! (And IIRC the reason for his return to Walford was to bring Phil Down?)

My son had a girlfriend a few years ago who came out as gay and they split up. We felt differently than we would have done if she had gone off with another man ; it's so weird isn't it? ( they weren't getting married though! ) I just wished her well.

I'd rather people were true to themselves than carry on and then hurt each later on in life I guess , but it's still hard. Whitney is being good about it all.

I saw a picture briefly online of Lacey turner and James bye ( Martin) with a baby each so maybe his a new dad now too? Not sure as didn't read the article.
It's a shame they can't do a ' go to uni and do well ' story ; they did with Libby (although she did have an abortion so it wasn't all great! ) I liked Libby.

Karen might ask Chan for money and Gray gets annoyed : takes it out on her as usual. Karen finds out about the abuse and sets Mitch and Keegan on to him. It's got to come out eventually but it might be more dramatic than that.

I think it makes sense Karen is struggling for money. kids have just gone back to school- I know she probably gets uniform grant but IME it doesn’t cover everything. Also Keanu has moved out and she’s just had Keegans birthday.

But where is Mitch living? And where is bailey? Are they with Karen? Mitch is working in salon so should be paying his way of living with Karen.

Nancy, I agree. Ben has a nasty side to him and isn't keen on Ken so I agree he'll try it on with him over money. Esp when it comes out about Sharon's baby etc etc. ( which it will I suppose) his half sister being betrayed will make him even worse! Have to see what goes down!

Mitch should also be supporting Bailey and Keegan. The twins father supports them (said in a previous episode). Keanu has moved out. Mitch (who is employed) has moved in. Bernie isn’t exactly looking for money for activities, clothes, her social life.

Mitch and Karen bought Keegan’s trainers between them.

Gray and Chantelle hosted his birthday.

Mitch and Chantelle bought the Star for Bailey.

If Ted’s flat is empty and nobody knows, can’t Karen sublet it? Who is to know?
