Schaden dishonesty will get you a long way (dance? me? never?) but Jesus knows you never really just sat on a chair really!! Grin Wink

Wizzbangpop · 21/09/2019 21:29

Noooo 4:30 is nap time and I can’t nap to pointless. I can’t nap to the count down music. It’s not soporific enough

mogloveseggs · 21/09/2019 21:30

schaden it sounds very confusing! I would travel to hear a strictly sermon for sure Grin

The80sweregreat · 21/09/2019 21:30

It's not fair moving pointless is it?

PrincessScarlett · 21/09/2019 21:33

I'm wondering if it's all an act from James and he's suddenly going to be fantastic in the next week or two and then the public fall in love with him. It's just that in everything he's done previously he is a machine and he has to be the best no matter what so it's weird that he is so bad at dancing.

Or maybe he simply just cannot dance.

Wizzbangpop · 21/09/2019 21:34

James is far too competitive to be crap at something. If he knew he couldn’t dance he wouldn’t have signed uo

Wizzbangpop · 21/09/2019 21:35

Up

NumbersStation · 21/09/2019 21:36

@SchadenfreudePersonified

I was intrigued too and sashayed off to find out what it was.

Having had a gin I read manager as manger and wondered why there was a talking manger..

I did like the sound of your dancing integrity thing though. I’m not clever enough to do things like that and would maybe have to rely on swears to keep the congregation interested awake

Couldn’t agree more about the high standard. I can’t see any really obvious ringers either which gladdened me. I’m going to like this year I think. Smile

I’m going to be so behind though as I work shifts. I will be relying on mumsnet to keep me up to speed on work days.

Wizzbangpop · 21/09/2019 21:41

Anyone got any predictions for the final? Mine are Kelvin, Alex and Karim

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/09/2019 21:45

Swears work really well for keeping people awake, but I don't want another letter of complaint being sent to the bishop.

Someone complained that I said "backside" once.

Knowing me the way you do, you will be aware that they were lucky it was just "backside".

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/09/2019 21:46

This Cracknell - rower guy is like Lurch.

Hmm
100PercentThatBitch · 21/09/2019 21:48

All my years of good girl church going long behind me and I can't remember the steward. Feel embarrassed Blush

Re-entering the fray

Will be stopping to watch Kelvin again Grin

xsquared · 21/09/2019 21:48

I'm gutted for James, and someone mentioned Aljiaz holding him up which is what it looked like. I hope he improves because I like Luba and it would be a shame for her to go out so early in her debut as a competing pro.

Emma's marks were harsh.

Karim is a very ringery ringer but he was fun to watch nonetheless.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/09/2019 21:48

You are right vendingmachine - I have made the Baby Jesus cry . . .

NumbersStation · 21/09/2019 21:53

If I’m in polite company I use Harris. Grin

People round here would have thought you terribly polite for using backside...

We were quite a little countryside town back in the day. And quite broad accent wise.

My mam went to the chemist after I’d had my ears pierced and they went wrong. She said I’d sore ears.

She came back with pile cream instead of surgical spirit. Word.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/09/2019 21:53

Most preachers avoid it* , so you may never have heard it mentioned. I was tempted to preach on the Old Testament reading (Jeremiah - "Is there no balm in Gilead?") instead, but then thought "Bugger it! I'm going for it."

*There are some readings that are worth feigning death to avoid

Oooh! It's Andy off Emmerdale. I remember when he joined the show and he was nobbut a lad. He was a lovely little bairn.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/09/2019 21:55

Numbers

Grin
SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/09/2019 21:57

That was surprisingly fluid from young Andy/Kelvin - he's quite muscle-bound and I didn't think he'd be so agile.

Wolfcub · 21/09/2019 22:07

He can certainly move his hips
schaden

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/09/2019 22:13

I'm watching quite a big lady dancing with Giovanni now - she's pretty good.

Clawdy · 21/09/2019 22:25

Shirley was a complete bitch to Emma.

BiscuitMachine · 21/09/2019 22:28

Loved tonight, lots of potential. Kelvin was amazing! Also enjoyed Karim, despite the not-very-cha-cha moves. I'm afraid I actually had to hide when James was on 😬
And I agree with whoever it was said about Craig refusing to patronise, I respect him for that.
KFG doing my head in v. early this year.

TitsInAbsentia · 21/09/2019 22:33

Kelvin...whoooooooooooooah!! That was fabulous, but I always worry about people who start off really well, they sometimes get penalised by the judges for not improving etc.

I thought Michelle was pretty good too.

I thought Cracknell was stiff as a board until Anneka got on the floor, holy moly, was her jumpsuit starched?!

Somewhat miffed that I will never get to see ITT at it's broadcast time any more, but wondering if it's earlier because Zoe needs to get to bed a bit earlier these days?

covetingthepreciousthings · 21/09/2019 22:37

Feel like there was a lot of 8's flung about tonight! Is this one of the highest scoring opening nights?

I think Michelle could go far!

Really enjoyed watching Karim & Will, I also think Dev will do well too, and obviously Kelvin! Was not expecting that!

NumbersStation · 21/09/2019 22:39

That would be Michelle Visage @SchadenfreudePersonified

She has aged like I was supposed to. She is similar ages with me. I’ve clearly gone down the grey heilan’ coo route.

There is also not an illusion dress tricky enough in the world to give me a waist again.

I don’t think Honey deserved such a harsh critique on the first week. It wasn’t Anton’s best shuffle either. Was it heavy? Yes but it is the first week! She wasn’t a disgrace.
