Gilead won't know that the seven Handmaids at the end weren't on the plane, so for now no-one will be looking for them.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 01/09/2019 22:39

What evidence would they have against Serena?

Rita’s in Canada now.

Tinkhasflown · 01/09/2019 22:40

@GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat they have the testimony from Junes tape sent to Luke.

sweetkitty · 01/09/2019 22:40

Sobbed my way through that one

Oh the start was so Nazi Germany like, terrifying.

I am scared for June and the others once they realise how many children are actually missing, how many Marthas will end up on the wall?? Could it lead to a Martha uprising they could all kill the commanders/guardians, power to the people

viques · 01/09/2019 22:40

Phew! Bit of a roller coaster episode. I wanted to tell them to take off their hats too! And tell the last through the woods to take the markers from the trees in case the guardians were following them.

SO pleased Selena is going to face charges, I thought Fred was going to dob her in as one of the original designers of Gilead, but I suppose it would hurt his pride to admit a woman could think, he really doesn't get what people don't like about Gilead though does he? TRying to make a snidey remark about his interviewers ( both women, go Canada!!) and not understanding why it was not appreciated.

So happy Janine has survived (the series at least) I imagine aunt Laura will have a thing or two to say /do to her in the next series.

Liked the way Lawrence and June exchanged names at the end, there is both respect and distrust in that relationship, I hope Lawrence continues to show development as a human being.

Emmapeeler · 01/09/2019 22:43

Bloody hell. Marking place.

viques · 01/09/2019 22:43

Serena not Selena, though not so serene now eh?

SinglePringle · 01/09/2019 22:44

I’ve lurked on every thread.

Sobbed all the way through tonight’s episode: Get Them Out.

Made me think of Kindertransport (and apologies if this has been said already).

Women are fucking awesome.

BIWI · 01/09/2019 22:45

Yes it was the same guard who found his daughter at the end

How could it be? The guard in the beginning was in Gilead; at the end, they're in Canada.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 01/09/2019 22:46

I don't think it was @BIWI - two different men but they did look similar.

viques · 01/09/2019 22:47

Why did the Martha of the tiny baby not bring the Handmaid along too? I thought Handmaids stayed with the family until the baby was weaned?

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 01/09/2019 22:50

Why didn't they get the handmaids out too? Was it just that the plane was full to capacity? I'd like to see how they're going to explain all this to Aunt Lydia.

UrsulaPandress · 01/09/2019 22:51

Anyone else think Inn of the 7th Happiness when the children were being lead through the woods.

yogima · 01/09/2019 22:55

I wonder if the fact that none of the Handmaids got out that they can sneak back to their houses and it will be as if they were never involved? It will all be put on the Marthas? Surely there will be a mass hanging of Marthas.

RandomMess · 01/09/2019 22:56

The hand maids can blame it on the Marthas say they weren't involved?

The Martha's escaped with the DC.

ladybird69 · 01/09/2019 22:56

Ha ha poor Serena 😁 just what she deserves she thought that she could just walk away with Nichole!
I think the Handmaids and Martha’s left will have to stay under ground, they’ll think that they made it too.
I really thought that it was Nick in the woods and she’d have to shoot nicholes daddy.
Cried my eyes out at commanders Laurence reading the story to keep the children quiet.
I think June’s pregnant.
The rescue reminds of a lady Irene sandler who rescued lots of children in WW2 (if I can remember rightly)
Fantastic final episode can’t wait to see what happens next after friends and I saying mid season how much further can this go!

Everyone should be watching this children should be watching it in schools, look at where we are now, not totally unbelievable that this couldn’t actually happen. Wonderful writing and fantastic acting especially by
June’s chin 😉 deserves award by itself.

OliviaCat · 01/09/2019 22:59

I loved it!!!

How did Fred know the details of Nichole's conception? I didn't think it had been made explicit to him?

yogima · 01/09/2019 22:59

Did they pick up the gun when they stretchered June out of the woods? Or will Commander Lawrence's gun be found with the dead guardian?

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 01/09/2019 22:59

I assumed the handmaids got everyone on board and then voluntarily went back to help June?

EmpressLesbianInChair · 01/09/2019 23:01

I assumed the handmaids got everyone on board and then voluntarily went back to help June?

That’s what I thought.

colouringinpro · 01/09/2019 23:02

Were the Martha's on the plane? (apart from Rita obv)

CurbsideProphet · 01/09/2019 23:02

I don't think June will be pregnant. I think she was shot in her side and will now be infertile. I hope she stays underground in series 4 and is properly running May Day.

It was so tense all the way through. The opening was horrifying.

I knew she wouldn't leave as Hulu want 10 seasons. The question now is will she be on the run to find Hannah?

yogima · 01/09/2019 23:03

Didn't they all come back to support June distract the guardians by stoning them?
And are there any marthas or Handmaids that were shot left by the fence?
Or maybe they were taken away as well.
Surely the destroyed guardians jeep would have been found by the morning by security

BIWI · 01/09/2019 23:04

It was a bit silly to wait until daylight to try and find their way home, though!

Walking 5 miles back through the woods, carrying an injured handmaid - they're just asking to be found.

I know it made stunning television, the six of them walking, shot from above, but would have much better, and far more realistic if they'd all run back in the dark, and rescued June that way.

yogima · 01/09/2019 23:05

I'm interested in where they take Commander Lawrence's character next season.
Will he help June to bring down Gilead? Or at least save more children? Will he protect her?
