Hi all - had to go out and just got back, so catching up on your posts. Hmm Fed v Danny eh - tricky. Tbh I'd probably support Danny, as the underdog and all that.

Fizzy it's not the gold stars and skull on his shirt that are worrying me, so much as the gold stripes on his shorts.

Wow! Haven't seen that before. Lopez is taking his contacts out as soon as he sits down - and dropping them on the court!
Does he usually do that or were they giving him grief, do you think?
I know when I used to wear lenses, I couldn't wait to take them out if they were playing up but I was so blind, I immediately had to put my glasses on to see past my nose

kazzaI can't see past my nose either, and got contacts at 14, (glasses at 10)because nhs glasses were so awful (my dds both wear glasses and love them).

However- I got a really bad infection a number of years back, and have worn glasses since. They are much nicer now now though And I don't recognise myself without them !

Maybe his contact lenses were really dry in the heat - I bet he didn’t have them in when he put that kit on

I’ve also given up on contact lenses and now have varifocals

Just seen that Andy Murray has lost his match in the Rafa tournament - I bet he just wanted to get on Rafa’s boat

Raahh I manned up and had my eyes lasered 4 years ago, after nearly 40 years needing glasses and nearly 30 years with lenses. Wish I'd done it sooner - unbelievable!

Just seen the last few minutes of Paire and Bedene, which Bedene won on a 5th set tie break. Paire didn't even wait to shake his hand, so don't know if something happened

I think I'd lose a match to go on Rafa's upgrade yacht.

This is a good match btw, Halep v Townsend. Townsend is a break up in the third.

Re Benoit, apparently (NB this is just according to twitter) Bedene was celebrating for ages or something?! So Paire left the court while he was still celebrating

Earlier came in found out Dan was 2 sets up and turned on and he lost the tie break so I took the dog out for a walk so he could win 😆😆

Watched the Konta match and she won really easily

I love Townsend's play too, she's fab. I remember ages ago Andy Murray said she was one to watch, I don't know what's happened to her lately though, if she's been injured or what - this is the first time I've seen her play in ages.

Re Bedene - he fell on his back at the end of the match for about 20 seconds before getting up and walking to the net. Unfortunately, Benoit was already walking off court in the other direction

Honestly I’m definitely a bad omen if watching a Brit play - kept happening at Wimbledon - I would start watching a Brit who was winning and they would start losing .

The volleying is still sublime
