Anyone watching Kathy Burke's All Woman on Channel 4 now?

Just that, really. I love her and really looking forward to this.

I loved the bit where she told that photographer that he could polish the turd a bit - but not to roll it in glitter! When she was talking about him taking photos of her! I loved it and glad it's not a one off!

She must be quite matey with the photographer as she said that she has been using his services for years.

He's quite a famous photographer and has been taking her photos for a long time. Her and Kate Moss!

I think she was just commenting about the style of the Love Island woman's glasses. She was trying to have a realistic conversation - just changing the glasses or getting contacts would have been enough to make an improvement she didn't need plastic surgery. There would have been no point trying to persuade her that her appearance didn't matter at all because it was obviously important to her.

I liked the way she didn't dismiss the interviewees concerns out of hand even though she didn't feel the same way herself. She wasn't trying to impose her opinion.

I'm not sure why Gwyneth Paltrow is being set up as the AntiBurke!

On Graham Norton recently she claimed that she'd been completely misrepresented regarding the steaming thing. Something like it was something that had been reviewed on her website/magazine rather than something she personally had done.

I watched this with 19 yo DD and we both loved it. Thankfully DD has her head screwed on when it comes to the likes of Love Island, body expectations, media pressure etc but there are a lot of young (and old!) people out there that would benefit from watching this.

Megan Barton-Hanson did admit that she never would have gotten where she is today without all the surgery and that’s really bad, and who the hell decided that that duck lipped look is in anyway? She and Chloe Sims can’t open their mouths at all! When they have their usual bitchy resting face then both their mouths are open, that’s not normal!

Oh sorry to slightly derail but speaking of MBH, well on Celebs Go Dating -to those of you who watch it- then MBH is now bi and the only girl that she really felt comfy with, out of all the girl dates she had, is Demi Sims, Chloe’s little sister, now imagine another ahem ‘celeb’ being the only girls MBH was comfy with, and why would that be, lucrative reality couples interviews in magazines maybe? Money money money perhaps? Honestly that girl is so transparent and it makes me dislike her even more, and I’m with the posters on the CGD thread that say she has a delay in her answers, personally I think she is on medication and/or just has a speech impediment, she is so shallow and an attention seeker, anyone?

A visitor to my hospital said I reminded him of an actress - He meant Kathy Burke in Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie. Thanks a lot Pal! Why can they not be so shortsighted I get taken for a young Sophia Lauren! Like that is going to happen!

I watched this after reading this thread. Best thing I’ve seen in ages. Love Kathy Burke. Why isn’t she on tv more, I love her. Had a VHS of Gimme Gimme. Will have to replace with a dvd.

I just caught up with this this morning, LOVED it. Such a down to earth, but not vilifying the women and girls who are put under this pressure. Love Kathy Burke.

Part two tonight (Tuesday) at 10pm. This one is about motherhood.

I watched the 'Mothehood' documentary last night and I was disgusted the way that stay at home dads were seen to be doing society such an amazing favour! Haven't stay at home mothers been doing an amazing job for centuries without being thanked? The hushed tones of reverence as Samantha Morton acknowledge how incredible her husband was for giving up his career. Well, get over it, they are his kids too. This shouldn't be an issue.

Was anyone else a bit mystified by the woman freezing her eggs asking previous boyfriends for donations? If she’d asked her employer, I might have understood it.

Men being stay at home parents is sufficiently rare to be commented on. All I picked up was that Morton appreciates it.

I was surprised that SM signed on when she had used her Band of Gold wages for a deposit on a house, how would that have worked? I know the DWP was a lot different back in the 1990s compared to now but I’m still confused. I do like Samantha Morton, I wonder if her hubby said that he would stay at home with the kids because his career is ‘less important’ than hers, I mean she is an actress and there will be times when she’s not filming so she will be at home, and so I wonder what her hubby Harry worked as, anybody?

It’s almost like the freezing her eggs woman felt that it was down to her exes that she needed to freeze her eggs in the first place hence her asking them I mean it’s not like she couldn’t afford it with the job she had so I can’t think of any other reason, quite cheeky really.
