I love Kathy, she is wonderful, thread on Aibu, Kathy for PM. Haven't seen prog yet but please God let her interview Gwyneth Paltrow "Shove that up my minge? You are having a laugh"

mizu · 16/08/2019 11:51

Watched ! LOVE Kathy Burke.

BettysLeftTentacle · 16/08/2019 15:12

I’ve not watched it yet but Kathy Burke is an idol of mine. I read an interview with her talking about this programme (in the Guardian I think...) and she just gets better and better as the years go by.

Inappropriatefemale · 16/08/2019 15:22

Her comment at the end was Grin “what’s wrong wiv’ a hairy fanny”!! Classic.

Regarding the fanny steaming: it’s dangerous! My mate saw it on the tv and fanny steaming was being discussed!

Mrsjayy · 16/08/2019 15:29

Why onearth would you want to steam your fanny in the first place ?

I watched with dd2 yesterday she loved Kathy and said don't watch the second one without me ,

Inappropriatefemale · 16/08/2019 15:30

God only knows, Gwyneth is a bit obsessed with ‘looking after’ her lady garden!Grin

Mrsjayy · 16/08/2019 15:37

Its the fanny is unclean thing that really annoys me we dont need to be steam cleaning.

Inappropriatefemale · 16/08/2019 15:40

Exactly! Your not even meant to wash your fanny with certain products as the fanny is self cleansing.

Oblomov19 · 16/08/2019 17:19

Watching it now.

HelenaDove · 16/08/2019 17:21

I would love to watch Kathy Burke chat to Lisa Kudrow

What Lisa talks about here is an example of some of the things covered in the programme.

kennypppppppp · 16/08/2019 19:17

the surgeon had such beautiful fingers. perhaps that's why he's a surgeon (joke)
was very interesting and i love kb and have you all seen the nil by mouth film that she was in with ray winstone. she was epic in that. but it's a really gruesome viewing.

BettysLeftTentacle · 16/08/2019 19:23

I’ve worked with surgeons in the past and they always have beautiful hands.

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 16/08/2019 19:24

I was with her until she said to the girl from love island while looking at a photo of her before surgery

"If you just took the glasses off you'd still look beautiful"

As someone who felt that my glasses made me ugly as a teenager that comment really pissed me off!

PixieLumos · 16/08/2019 19:32

I watched this on catch up, Kathy Burke is great! I’m quite confident in how I look - I don’t really have any body hang ups but I do think I place a bit too much worth on my appearance. This sort of program puts things into perspective, we should see more of this kind of thing. Also, no amount of hair, make up or plastic surgery can compete with a fantastic personality like Kathy Burke has. Character is definitely more important than looks, by miles. It’s good to be reminded of that.

bumblingbovine49 · 16/08/2019 20:42

I also loved when she explained how miserable she had been in the photos where she is slim. The weight loss was as a result of being very ill/ unhappy.but she said everyone kept telling her how great she looked which was not how she felt at at all. She then said she put on some weight and felt much better .

Such a refreshing change from the usual assumption that if you are even a bit slimmer than you were yesterday you absolutely must be happier and if you even a bit are fatter then you absolutely must be more miserable.

Inappropriatefemale · 16/08/2019 20:49

I am always confused when overweight women say about slim woman ‘but are you happy being slim’ as if being slim is causing unhappiness, I’m fairly unhappy in my life right now, and I’m slim but if I was to be overweight then I know I would feel worse, I have enough issues without looking in the mirror and loathing what I see.

Inappropriatefemale · 16/08/2019 20:50

I knew what KB meant when she said that she was unhappy whilst being slim but she wasn’t unhappy due to being slim, which is what gets meConfused

rockingthelook · 16/08/2019 21:06

She is just so level headed, really wonderful, genuine lady, we all need a good friend like Kathy Burke

Inappropriatefemale · 16/08/2019 21:58

Definitely. Had anyone heard of this Big Sue before this show? The lady who was in a painting that sold for £18million!

ZuzuMyLittleGingersnap · 16/08/2019 22:21

please God let her interview Gwyneth Paltrow "Shove that up my minge? You are having a laugh"

longwayoff,
You are so right!
Shall we start the petition? Grin
It would be absolute viewing gold.

Inappropriatefemale · 16/08/2019 22:39

Minge is most likely something that G.P would call her child, “this is Apple, Moses and Minge”Grin

HelenaDove · 17/08/2019 00:40

@Inappropriatefemale When i was at my slimmest i was very ill. I think Kathy was trying to point out that slim does not always = health. The two are always being seen as one and the same thing and they are not.

Inappropriatefemale · 17/08/2019 00:55

I understand what your saying but from what KB said then I think it was mental illness that caused her weight loss.

She didn’t look too thin when she was slim though, or at least I didn’t think so.

Now my BMI is 22.5 so it’s pretty perfect, I’m a waist size 8 to 10 and I’m 5ft 3” so I’m in proportion, and an overweight woman once said to me ‘your slim but are you happy’ and it was as if she was suggesting that my physical body was causing me to be unhappy, or that if I got bigger I would be happier, now I am the way I am and I don’t try to be slim or anything, and at this time in my life then I’m trying to be fit and toned and healthy.

I have heard lots of things being said about things like this and it does suggest to me what I just said, or when overweight women say that they’re ‘real’ women, not that KB said that but sometimes I think we’re all meant to be the weight we are, you get plenty of overweight people that don’t eat a lot and plenty of skinny women that eat everything yet look unwell, it’s all to with metabolism.

There’s girls like Lauren Goodger and Gemma Collins who, no matter what they do, then they always go back to being larger and I honestly believe that they are meant to be this weight and they should stop fighting it.

Inappropriatefemale · 17/08/2019 00:55

Yeah I’m slim but not healthy as I’m not fit, although I’m certainly not underweight at 9 stones 7 pounds.

HelenaDove · 17/08/2019 01:43

I went from 21 stone down to 11 but really struggle Ive gained a bit but am starting the menopause.
I experienced sleep paralysis this week. Scary experience

I cant keep a meal inside me for long either. Loo straight after every meal since Wednesday night. Used to have really bad IBS but it improved after i jacked in diet coke six and a half years ago. So this isnt new but could be to do with the change. Im ravenously hungry though as food isnt staying in me for long at the moment.

There are so many complex things that go on with the human body.
