Gray agreed reluctantly to move near Karen and co in order to try and stop himself hitting her , but it hasn't worked. I think she just believes him when he tells her he will change : could be lifestyle thing too not wanting the kids to suffer a drop in income or just that she's dependent on him and can't see a way out.

But she had a job that she loved and gave up? She can work and he must give substantial maintenance given his income. I think she doesn’t want her children to grow up without a father like she did? I’m not sure what message that is giving to women currently in the position of trying to pluck up the courage to leave but staying for the children?

I think it's very realistic in that she believes he can change and doesn't want to leave. The good bits of their relationship are very good.

I think he wants to change. Whether he can is another matter. I suspect not and I think it would be a bad message to send if he does.

Agree Soup, they shouldn't have an amazing transformation for him because that is a dangerous message to send out.

If they want to be realistic he should kill Chantelle

Yes I think it’s very realistic. Abused women experience on average something like 36 incidents of violence before they decide to leave. It’s totally believable that Chantelle would believe him every time he says he is sorry/will change. Abusers are great manipulators. We can see his true nature from an outsiders perspective but for the woman going through it, it doesn’t look the same. He always justifies it and promises change. It’s never as simple as “he hits me- I have to leave”. There are always complications. She’s left her job, he is isolating her, she’s now pregnant with another of his children (another tactic abusers use to keep women dependant on them) which he would clearly be very possessive over. I think for Chantelle it will take her child/baby being at risk before she realises she needs to get out.

Ive caught up have been on holiday oh last weeks was good poor Bobby and well done Callum Mel and shazza is going to be good , I hope Chantelles story isn't long running poor girl

I would like something like Keegan or Mitch to walk in on gray assaulting Chantelle and for them to get involved. Then to see if gray will continue the big man act (and one of them kills him) or he agrees to leave quietly.

I think it would be a powerful message to woman if they watch how family can help you.

I guess that Mel just thinks they all owe her.,Why is a mystery , but it's all just so they can have a big Christmas bust up over paternity I suppose. Bound to happen sooner or later and my guess is Christmas as EE isn't EE without a family feud of some kind involving Mel ( after Phil declares' best Christmas ever' of course) this is all just a guess by the way. They may surprise us!

I know I'm not a Sharon fan but i do think that her and Phil work well together in scenes. They are both natural in character.
I'd rather this than Chantelle / Gray story which is only too real, sadly.

If I were Sharon I would cut my losses and just tell Phil the truth!
After all, he has had affairs and messed up loads ; he would throw her and Denny out, but she must have some money of her own and could survive : she could even consider having the baby adopted like Dee did and been married long enough to get a pay out if he wants a divorce. His house is worth a fortune and she owns the club I think?
She does have options.
Must be cheaper than buying Mel n Lisa a blooming villa and shut Mel up for good.
