Yeah I dong even know if I can be bothered to watch tonight. The thought of Curtis's declaration makes me feel quite queasy, and I think Tommy's will be sickly sweet.

Watching Aftersun last night, Anton and Belle were definitely the realest, most genuine people in there. So refreshing to see a couple come out and be honest, admitting things are very different on the outside and they need time to see if they can work properly.

Wrongdissection · 29/07/2019 09:02

Whilst the more producer meddled series are different I just enjoy them for what they are. I’ll definitely be watching tonight and beyond.

LI is a victim of its own success. When it was a bit more niche and on at 10pm they could leave them alone to be a bit more lairy and have them chugging away fags on screen, show them shagging on top of the covers and let them get absolutely smashed. But with that in mind we now have the knowledge that doing it like that had an adverse effect on the participants.

So I do one am just going to it enjoy it in whatever format it’s in. I like it.

I didn’t think Anton and Belle should have been up for voting but I’m not a huge Anton fan. He was very sure he was staying/very high opinion of himself and was so shocked when they were voted off.

cuppycakey · 29/07/2019 09:04

According to bookies (usually a good indicator) the best vote for anyone who doesn't buy TF/MM is to vote Greg and Amber. I will probably do this, although I still think Amber was a nasty piece of work early on with all the bullying of Lucie, cat calling at Maura etc etc. I will just tell myself she has matured Grin

I don't think I can watch the declarations, especially MM (complete with fake crying again) and Curtis (what the actual fuck is he going to say?)

I have enjoyed the series but the best people in it were Chris and Maura. Not really buying any of the couples tbh. And totally agree with PP re over reaching interference from producers. Angry

Lefields · 29/07/2019 09:04

I honestly don’t know who I want to win.

I like Ovie but am pretty apathetic re India. They’re too new to win, just wouldn’t feel right for me.

Curtis and Maura, Maura’s my fave housemate so I want her to win, but Curtis is SO smug and fake re Maura, I just couldn’t bear for him to win. I feel sorry for Maura, I think there is a genuine like their on her part but he’s so obviously not into her, it’s cringe.

Tommy and MM- In fairness to them, they are the oldest, most consistent couple. Neither have really done anything too bad in the villa and they are the obvious choice to win. But I do feel like their is some smugness/ arrogance on MM’s part as she’s convinced their going to win, so just because of that I’d like them not to.

Greg and Amber, love Greg, less keen on Amber though she’s been okay lately. But she honestly doesn’t come across as into him at all IMO. And tbh, if Maura had of been up for it, I think Greg would’ve gone for her over Amber. I do think he likes Amber, but I find their interactions really awkward. We never get to see them having long, in-depth discussions or even making each other laugh. It’s just always really bland, stifled conversation?! Whenever the camera pans to them in bed, she’s turned over with her eye mask on, asleep. We’ve never seen them look like they want to rip each other’s clothes off etc. I’m not really sure why everyone is voting for them? I literally think as soon as they get out, that’ll be it for both of them. They just don’t seem like they have much in common/ are a good match.

So yeh, stumped really.

Strugglingmum73 · 29/07/2019 09:04

My teenagers want to vote for MM and T but we are on holiday and they have no data left. I voted for Ovie and India cos I do 😂

Lefields · 29/07/2019 09:05

Sorry, grammar has gone out of the window this morning, there not their

Strugglingmum73 · 29/07/2019 09:06

I think people are voting for A and G because of Amber and the journey she’s been on

cuppycakey · 29/07/2019 09:09

Forgot to say - I doubt Flackkers is knocked up. She has agreed to do LI South Africa in January....The woman is 40 in November so any slight tummy she has is understandable surely?

I did feel slightly sorry for MM having seen her mother. That day should have been all about MM. But no, Mummy has to try to outshine her by announcing engagement on national TV. Then proceeds to say all manner of negative things about her own daughter, crossed the line in sexual comments about Tommy, veering into Predatory Nan territory, culminating in a trashy comment about Tommy being "dragged up" which is particularly off when you consider some of the less favourable views some people seem to have about travellers.

Her sister seemed nice though Grin

Lefields · 29/07/2019 09:13

What journey though? Sure she got dumped by Michael but that’s really about it as far as I can see?! I don’t think she picked Greg over Michael because she liked him so much more tbh, I think she picked him over Michael because she knew there would’ve been a load of backlash if she’d gone back there. Greg was the easy/ safe option which I think she’s proving by never looking like she’s actually, physically into him. There’s just zero chemistry.

She was horrendously bitchy at the start, that’s toned down a bit but a leopard doesn’t change its spots and I think put in a gaggle with the likes of Amy and Anna again once she gets out, the bitchiness will return.

I don’t know, I have really wanted them to ramp things up in the last week so I feel like I could vote for them, as I like Greg. But unfortunately I just don’t believe in them as a couple at all, and don’t see what everyone else seems to be seeing. I wish I did as it would make voting so much easier.

As it is, I won’t be voting as I don’t like any of the couples enough, and will just watch and see who wins.

Cotswoldcapers · 29/07/2019 09:28

I voted for A&G because I don’t want T&MM to win. They have both been disingenuous throughout - maybe not with each other - but their ‘advice’ has certainly put the kibosh on others’ chances. MM deliberately I feel, whereas T is either being influenced by her, or really is as stupid as he looks.

Chilledout11 · 29/07/2019 09:29

Mollie Mae's mum should be ashamed of the way she acted. I love Greg but he's only in there a wet weekend so seems unfair for him to win over Tommy. Curtis isn't someone I like really. He's sticks his nose into everything. Ovie and India are lovely but we only know India a wet weekend too.
Tough one.

PutYourBackIntoit · 29/07/2019 09:32

I now feel much more warmth towards MM now that I've seen her mother. It's not easy being a child to a narcissist, and often a way of dealing with that is to put up walls. I think MM has done exactly that but Tommy is chipping away at them. I think she may still need those walls though.

Agree Anton and Belle should not have been in the vote in the first place.

I loved Amber's mum and Dad, and Greg's mum and Dad were cute. I've voted for them for the win.

I found it insightful watching Curtis' mum and Dad. His mum also made a lot of the time about her by getting Maura's name wrong. His Dad saying 'to be sure, to be sure' was hideous. Overall, they came across as a couple who are trying to keep up with the Jones' as my nan would say.
Loved Maura's mum. I clicked a side glance from Maura which said 'ok, I get what you're saying'.

Chilledout11 · 29/07/2019 09:38

Ambers dad was so adorable. Even offering to do the salmon. Loved him. Greg's mum giving Amber the necklace was very sincere and sweet.

nowifi · 29/07/2019 09:48

I don't even think I'll watch tonight, after watching all the way through I'm not bothered who wins as am really indifferent to all of them!

Agree with pp about molly May's Mum, she did try and make it all about her. Could have told her about the engagement in like 3 days time when they leave? Weird.

ChihuahuaMummy1 · 29/07/2019 09:56

Just caught up on last nights .I've voted ovie and india

angell84 · 29/07/2019 10:03

I agree that Amber has been on a journey. But she was very bitchy and rude at the beginning. She was very nasty.
I think I will vote for Ovie

angell84 · 29/07/2019 10:06

I feel like I am still recovering from my mother aka similiar to MM's mother. Some of the gems my mother has said:
No man will want you
Are you not going to put any makeup on? She said this everytime I went out, even after I may have spent 30 mins putting make up on.
You look fat in that dress.
You're just like your father - mentally ill. You get that from his family. (I have never been mentally ill but I was told I was all the time from her).

It is really hard to have a mum like that

ThomasFurious · 29/07/2019 10:20

I'm voting for Tommy and MM due to her mother. She has done well to be as well rounded as she seems to be with a mother like that. I would like MM to win and her mum to realise that's why she's won so she'll wind her neck in.

Would have voted for Maura alone but not couple.

Like Amber now but she was a cow in the beginning.

AliasGrape · 29/07/2019 10:29

Just watching aftersun now - I’ll watch the Chris bit but not sure I can stand to see the whole Anna/Jordan thing rehashed.

Chris and Harley seem far more believable as a potential couple now than they did in the villa though I’m not sure it’s going to be a happy ever after scenario either. I imagine they’ll meet up a few more times and then amicably drift apart once Chris realises he’s meant to be with me

angell84 · 29/07/2019 10:29

I just watched aftersun carch up. Awww Chris and Harley are dating ! I really like those two

angell84 · 29/07/2019 10:31

@AliasGrape aren't Chris and Harley so cute together! I really like both of them.

I also wouldn't mind dating Chris myself...we all would...and he was the one that was not confident about himself at all

CocoLoco87 · 29/07/2019 10:41

I think it's worth remembering how mature MM was each time Lucie threw herself at Tommy. She didn't fly off the handle the way Anna has done.

It's a competition and she's being savvy and trying to win by making doubtful comments about Belle and Anton. Danny made the comment earlier in the series saying if you don't want to find love, don't come to LI, but I think if you don't want to win £50k + future earnings then don't come to LI and not play a good game!

CocoLoco87 · 29/07/2019 10:44

And i found it quite sad how genuinely excited MM was to see her mum and then her mum was just so mean to her with ridiculous snidey comments. I felt sorry for the poor girl if that's how she's grown up, being criticised etc.
