I was commenting that Best Bits is so unpopular now that the thread quietens right down. I watched it too tonight, so calm down.

Dreadful as it is but has anyone watched C4's Humans? It immediate came to mind when he was asking Lucie about snacks. Come to think of it they both fit the bill with that exchange.

It needs to be a mass exit now, as there are beds in the lounge etc. Shower time etc. Must be a nightmare. Just too many islanders, with many not getting any airtime.

Basically leave us with Tommy & MM, Amber & Michael, Ovie and Anna, Curtis (hate him but I know everyone else loves him!) and potentially Amy for entertainment, although I wish she'd do herself a favour, go home and lick her wounds, Maura and maybe Anton, although he annoys me now too and if she really does couple up with Curtis I'll never watch it again!!

Its so obvious Tommy was put in to win and whoever he coupled up with was onto a winner. I find the thing with him and Curtis really odd, its like Curtis enjoys the 'bromance' a bit TOO much, its clearly staged to try and recreate the Chris & Kem thing, and I'm surprised that Tommy is so ok with it, being a traditionally masculine type of guy. Hope he doesn't get stick for kissing Curtis 4 times when he - -comes- - gets out.

I’m getting SO bored with this series. It’s so staged and scripted I know they’re not told exactly what to say but they’re told to ‘pull so and so for a chat’ it’s so obv like when Curtis was dumping Amy why did he wait for a prime time spot mid evening to do it? He could have done it anytime but no it had to be then and there when they’re all dollled up for the eve to make it look more tense

It needs a massive shake up or it needs to be sacked off.

I’m getting a bit bored as well. All the petty drama. I mean they don’t know each other. They don’t talk about anything else that I can see. They are young people and I don’t expect them to solve the worlds problems but what do they actually like in each other apart from looks? Books, music, films, plans for the future, places they’ve been to, there’s nothing there. The Unseen Bits just shows awkward challenges, no normal interactions.

I like the Unseen Bits but it doesn’t push any of the stories forward so there doesn’t seem as much to say about it. What bothered me was the Belle-Anton conversation about ‘taking the relationship to the next level’ wink wink, oh it’s bum shaving, how I nearly died laughing . I’m prepared to accept that the conversations happen unscripted with just a bit of prompting - go and take x for a chat to tell them how you feel with a few buzzwords and phrases but otherwise off the top of your head. But that horrible little scene was excruciating - badly written lines that they had learned and delivered extremely unconvincingly. The whole bun shaving thing is not a funny but charming quirk as Anton imagines. I lost any kind of respect for them both in that bit. I really wish someone would tell Anton outright how repellent it is (though Maura tried with Arsehole Wednesday and he didn’t listen) and that they would drop it. Belle is so desperate to have a storyline and stay in but I think now Anton is in a couple all the funny and self deprecating stuff that made him popular with the public has gone. He’s now weird and creepy with so many mummy issues it is revolting!

Honestly, when people sell stories about their exs to newspapers I take them with a huge pinch of salt.

Still love Maura, even if she couples up with Curtis. She has been the best Islander overall for me.
