If everyone thinks it is so producer driven why bother watching? I personally believe that there is a lot more free will involved than most on this thread, I have a link with a previous contestant and yes some conversations were directed to take place at specific locations but the contents of those conversations were their own.

I have thought that, wrongdissection about most of the conversations - but the Belle/Anton ‘it’s time to take this to the next level’ ‘I might not be ready’ - haha, it’s actually arse shaving was absolutely scripted and painfully, cringingly so!

I don't think the whole thing is scripted but they are told when to have certain conversations and when to go off for a chat with a particular person. The Anton and Belle thing felt completely false. Also the conversation between Tommy and Curtis on the balcony last week it was so cringe and over the top. Maura apparently fancying Curtis makes me think the producers have got involved too.
Previous years islanders have put on Twitter how fake this years has been compared to the previous which were a lot more entertaining as felt more natural.

The Tommy/Lucie chats are clearly directed by the producers also

I completely believe Maura would be after Curtis. I think she would have gone for him off the bat but thought there was no point as he was exclusive with Amy. She really does want a boyfriend and Curtis seems very much a boyfriend type! Albeit one that has gone a bit off the rails the past week.

They aren't reading off a script it's just very very directed by the producers this year. Maura probably suggested to one of them that she will say she fancies Curtis. She hasn't had much air time this week so she had to pull out all the stops to get the attention back on her

I just find it hilarious that the producers are not willing to sit back and let natural interactions happen.
It ruins what could be a decent series. All the talk to him and such and such.

Wtf do these people never just wanna be themselves.
I loved Big Brother cos you don't know how the series will turn out.
Watched with younger relatives last night and they couldn't believe the thick geography chats in the kitchen.
Not impressed and no laughs. Very boring stupid chat apparently.

It isn't scripted at all..like another poster has said the contestants are constantly having conversations with producers and psychologists etc, to see how they feel about everyone in the villa and then when they want to have a chat with somebody about a something, they have to let the producers know so they can make sure all the cameras catch it. So the producers will ask if they can make sure they have the conversation on the balcony or by the fire pit etc..

I don't think the producers are forcing Anton and Belle to do anything..before Belle went in the last thing she knew was the public loved Anton, they are both desperately playing up to the cameras, thinking we are all in hysterics at the pair of them..when really we can all see straight through the act. It's embarrassing!!

My DH hit the nail on the head when he said Anton reminds him of Julius Caesar, with Belle not saying a word rubbing and tickling him while he sunbathes and chats to people on the beanbags..all she needs now is some grapes to feed him!!

Atleast once each series there's a conversation between a group of girls, acting utterly thick. The one last night regarding geography, the one last series about brexit. Worse part is I think they put on this dumb girl act as if it's cute and endearing, there's no way they are actually that clueless.

I don't find girls pretending to be thick for air time funny at all of course she knows where Barcelona is she's a model who has travelled round the world ffs

OMG they have to let the Producers know before they have a chat.

I don't wanna see fire pit staged.

The first two series were filmed more likeBig Brother, came across a lot more natural and we got to see more personalities rather then boring "connections" chat. I remember series two when Cara just farted and Nathan just got up and walked off haha. There was a lot more banter as people weren't acting up for the cameras as much and being directed by producers

I also hate seeing women being thick for attention. I see it all the time. pisses me off.

I tink they need it to be more relaxed, more big brother style.

I enjoyed unseen bits last night. Got to see more of some of their personalities.

I prefer the more relaxed chat and less 'take x for a chat'.

Moomin Yeah we discussed that a thread or 2 back. I thought he was/is a narc and hated him. But I really don’t think he was banking on bunny boiler Amy being quite so difficult to bin off. I hope that’s a lesson to him, he knew from the get go that he didn’t fancy her.
I love watching the panic in his eyes when he’s trying to think of the right answers to her questions.
I really felt sorry for her to begin with, but it was a brief semi romance that ended, move on...

@unique1986 I don't think it's staged so to speak but I remember Olivia Attwood hitting back at criticism from the public thinking it was staged..she said something along the lines of no it's not at all, and that she had started having a serious conversation with Amber about dumping Chris (I think) They both sat down but there was too much noise etc from other islanders, so the producers stopped them and asked them if they could both move up to the balcony instead. Where it was quiet and they had no distractions or interruptions from other islanders

Do they use the cameras located around the villa or are there always cameramen around while they are having a chat etc?

Can not believe Anna has the cheek to have a go at Ovie for saying he like Joanna and making a joke with Amber about taking her off her hands.

After she is messing both him and Jordan about and not being totally honest.

I knew she would get shitty with Ovie when he wasnt fussed about her anymore.

I think Ovie did really well. She kept talking over him, instead of losing Jo's rag, he just walked away.

I dont recall him saying 'to be clear we are over', but he made that clear at recoupling, no need to say it again.

I think Michael didn’t completely close it off with Amber. He basically said when Joanna came in she reminded him of Amber and her energy and he wanted to get to know her as he wasn’t sure if she was 20% what he wanted or 80% what he wanted and he still wasn’t sure about that. And the he talked about how Amber still made him laugh etc. So no not explicitly I want to try again with you but equally not ‘I’m with Joanna now and I am happy and wish to be clear that there is no longer anything between us’.

Just seen First Look, Agree with another poster who said ‘Can’t Ovie just win on his own’...God I love that man!!

And I think Joanna is just trying to pile on the humiliation with Amber. Michael has already picked you once, why get him to do it again in front of Amber.
