Thump. I agree that it’s a bit daft that you can’t even describe someone physically these days - although I do think your post was a bit blunt, especially as many of the islanders are mixed race.
However, I had a situation where I had to describe someone at work who’d been acting inappropriately and stalking me. I told my supervisor his nationality/accent, his approx height, the sector I thought he worked in, his Instagram handle, the fact that he had a noticeable scar, but didn’t feel I could say that he was black, which was stupid, as it would have given a visual picture a lot more quickly than the vague non-physical descriptors I had to resort to without knowing his name! ‘Luckily’ I wasn’t the only one reporting him so she had enough info to recognise him from that and helpfully provided his name!
