OP posts:
kazzaD66 · 10/06/2019 20:23

I looked at his twitter and instagram and see he is celebrating having 1m followers. Who knew a Swiss bear could be so popular, eh magi BearGrin

Raahh · 10/06/2019 20:56

Where is magi anyway?
Rafa was going to announce his retirement at RG wasn't he? Wink

Grin
PrivateIsles · 10/06/2019 21:37

Oh yeah! Grin Maybe that didn't quite happen.

I've been deliriously thinking Rafa could win Wimbledon again this year Shock I mean, I know it's a totally different thing to clay, and he's not playing any grass tournaments in the run up, so it'll be impossible to know. But he could do!

Or Delpo Grin Or Stan will find a previously unknown grass expertise.

Or a complete dark horse, a bolt from the blue, someone who just comes from nowhere to string 7 wins together and take the title Gulbis Grin

By which I mean not Fed or Djok again.

Surely it's got to happen some time hasn't it?

Maybe not in tennis.....but remind me again who won the last US presidential election Hmm

Fizzywinegum · 11/06/2019 09:55

I’m missing the tennis as well - it’s not being helped by the grim weather - I’m in my winter clothes and boots today Sad

Hope the weather improves for Queens and Wimbledon - it would be great if Rafa could win it but not sure he’s got much of a chance. If Rafa can’t win it would love to see Thiem or Tsitsipas or even Zverev doing well but don’t think their games are particularly suited to grass. Not sure about Dan Evans though Grin

JaneJeffer · 11/06/2019 10:39

kazza I think I might put some money on Evans Grin

JaneJeffer · 11/06/2019 14:39

Kyrgios is out of Stuttgart beaten in straight sets by Berrettini.

magimedi · 11/06/2019 14:58

Magi est dans la belle France.

Left the family today and having afew nights in our fave place on the way home.

Back by the w/e, ready for Queens.

Nezrly wne time ici bravo!

JaneJeffer · 11/06/2019 15:09

Salut magi

kazzaD66 · 11/06/2019 16:17

magi
nezrly wne time are you sure you haven't already started? HmmGrin

Enjoy!

Adelie0404 · 11/06/2019 16:44

Hurray! Kyrgios out. But, if he’s not seeded for Wimbledon he could get someone like Rafa early - Which might be bad.
Private - I think Rafa is in with a chance... we can but hope!
It was freezing last evening - as myself and 2 girls sat wrapped in blankets for dinner I ventured to ask if we should have heating on - it was below 10c. Was told to not be ridiculous.
It’s always like this - DH never feels the cold and the rest of us do. Bloody men!

kazzaD66 · 11/06/2019 16:54

DH arrived home about 7.30pm last night and immediately lit the wood burner, saying he was too cold - lightweight Grin
It just seems ridiculous for the second week of June. I mean, it's the longest day soon! Flamin' June, indeed Angry

Having said that, I did put the heating on for a couple of hours this morning but that was because I had a load of wet washing hanging around the place trying to dry, it being stair rods outside Wink

Raahh · 11/06/2019 17:20

Have a great time magi.
So, Kyrgios who wanted RG cancelled because you know clay sucks, etc, has lost in the first round of a grass tournament.

What a terrible shame.

With a bit of luck he will chuck all his toys on the barbie and not go to Wimbledon.

In theory, no he shouldn't be seeded. But Wimbledon don't go off rankings for their seeding, they employ some convoluted formula based on the performance on grass over the last two years. And if they like you. And if you have a team behind you that shout loud enough. Hmm Serena.
So who knows.

Raahh · 11/06/2019 17:20

And I'm sick of the rain.

PrivateIsles · 11/06/2019 17:51

chuck all his toys on the barbie
Grin
Yes that backfired on him a bit (BBQ pun not intended)

I see Delpo, Tsitsipas and Shaggy are all confirmed for the so-called "Boodles". That whole set up gets right on my wick, for no reason whatsoever except that everything about it annoys me Grin

The weather here is bloody awful as well! magi I hope France is a bit nicer! Enjoy your vino.

kazza I'm envious of the woodburner - we were totally set on getting one for our new house but there's a massive concrete beam blocking the chimney so may not be possible Sad

They are lovely and toasty on a cold June winter's night privateSmile

PrivateIsles · 11/06/2019 18:19

Grin that's just what I was thinking kazza

OP posts:
kazzaD66 · 11/06/2019 19:24

Is it just me or is everyone else suddenly getting a couple of ads per page up, one immediately after the first post on the page and the second towards the end? Bloody annoying Angry

Raahh · 11/06/2019 19:52

kazza yes, on my phone I keep getting that all the time.

PrivateIsles · 11/06/2019 20:19

Yes so do I - annoying isn't it?

Have you seen the Wimbledon countdown ad on their Facebook page? It's like a Ceefax mock up Grin 20 days to go apparently. That's approx how long it used to take Ceefax to load the results back in the day.

OP posts:
Raahh · 11/06/2019 20:24

Private I love it! It brings back so many memories, missing a page, and having to wait for it to come around again... It was the how I got all my results 'in the old days' (apart from spending a fortune in pay phones on results on premium results lines Blush).

It was hard being a teenage fan in the 80s Grin
