I caught an episode of "Classic Holby City" on the Drama Channel this morning. The actress who plays Carol/Dom's Mum was playing a different character altogether, a fantasist called Lynn
it was quite interesting, I recognised some of the old characters like Trisha and Chrissie, but a lot of them I was thinking "Who's that? I don't remember him/her!

Essie is awful. I've said this before but I hate how they always portray her as some kind of femme fatale who all men fall for when in fact she's pretty dull. And anyway why didn't she have to rush hom to her baby?

Have fallen down a bit of a Ramin Karimloo rabbit hole on t'internet - can't really fathom how he's on Holby. He seems to have a MASSIVE musical theatre career! Wonder if Holby pays the bills? But I don't feel confident that he's going to hang around and become part of the Holby furniture, which is a shame as they're not exactly rich in eye candy at the moment

I did think his acting in this episode was beautifully judged though. Is easy to miss the really good moments that Holby is capable of amid some of the - more rubbish ones.

Anyone see Sacha on Christmas University Challenge? I like him much better in real life than in Holby - confident and smiley.

Oh no, @Optimist1, I'd not clocked Sacha in UChallenge. Which uni team did he play for? Only seen a couple including Richard Coles putting on a very impressive show for Leeds University.

It was yesterday's, @NewModelArmyMayhem18 - he was on the Guildhall School of Music & Drama team. It's on iPlayer if you want to see him. I agree that Richard Coles' performance was stellar, but there did seem to be a high percentage of religious questions in that one. Perhaps it's a seasonal thing?

Last night's was an episode of extremes - the doom and gloom of Serena, Cam and their patients highlighted by the farce that was Sacha, Essie and Dom meddling in Fletch and Ange's business. I hope the scriptwriters have made resolutions to be better for 2020.

I cannot quite believe how impervious Essie is to Sacha's love for her. It makes me dislike her more and more with each additional conquest she makes.

Thank goodness Sacha showed a tiny bit of backbone when Essie was clearly angling for him to babysit while she went out partying with the new doc.

Is Serena resigning as Medical Director, or resigning entirely? I really felt for her last night.

He must know Sacha loves Essiotror, and he's lose to both so is he baiting Sacha into saying something by suggesting he baby sits whilst she sees other men, is he a tually clueless but the scenes in Albies with Mange suggest otherwise, or is he just mean?? Why he say something to Essioteot?

Interestingly the only time I like mange is w when she's with Sacha.

Essie's allowed to not be interested in Sacha, sweet as he might be, and the "Mange" thing continues to be incredibly childish, makes this thread embarrassing to read.

Marty being Kian's cousin though? Is that for real? I didn't see that coming, that kid has fingers in all kinds of pies.

I agree that Essie's allowed to not be interested in Sacha but I do think that she uses him when it suits her. I refuse to believe that she can be oblivious to how he feels, and she is very giggly touchy feely with him when she wants something/needs the ego boost.
