That last thread filled up quickly! Here's a new one for us.

As a PP said, I can't quite forget how vile Dom was to Malik in the early days, so his rehabilitation has never made me warm to him. It looks as though his troubles aren't over, though. Carol to the rescue?

Did anyone else think that Jac was going to accidentally push Johnny’s wife (I can’t remember her name) down the stairs??

I feel really sorry for Dom in the current storyline and Lofty is just being a twat.

I liked the Cam storyline last night, it feels like we are seeing some proper acting out of him lately as opposed to him just wandering about forlornly.

I found Ric really annoying last night - he’s just so bloody rude and grumpy.

I don’t quite get the Kion (or whatever his name is) storyline but it was nice seeing him walking around the changing room with no top on Grin

SoupDragon · 30/10/2019 10:16

I like it as a waste of an hour. I don't watch it for quality medical drama 😂 Which is lucky.

They're clearly already there with a mental health story for Cameron and judging by Ric's temper he's not entirely out of the woods yet.

SoupDragon · 30/10/2019 10:17

I thought Jaq was going to push Stacey or rather that she was going to fall accidentally and blame it on her.

I feel sorry for Dom - he wants the baby more than either of its parents and I also thought the mother had invited him to be involved in the classes.

SleepingStandingUp · 30/10/2019 11:05

I've not caught up but if Kian is walking around half naked, I will be catching up tonight!!

spiderlight · 30/10/2019 12:31

Kian half-naked was definitely the highlight of last night's episode. I thought Stacey was going to fall as well - it's rare for anyone to have a conversation on the stairs at Holby without ending up in a heap at the bottom.

PretendLife · 30/10/2019 14:21

Perhaps they are saving Stacey for the roof, they haven't been up there for a while.

Why is Ric still being horrid, what is his excuse now the brain tumour has gone?

I actually think Emma would be better off with Johnny and Stacey.

Flowerpower321 · 05/11/2019 20:31

Not the roof but the basement corridor of death.....

Poor Jac. She's a mess but she really does love Emma.

Lovely to see Elliott back. I knew he'd whip out a set of notes revealing something hideous wrong with him before the end of the episode though! Knew the old lady wouldn't see the hour out as well, bless her.

To be honest though, Jonny has never been the best dad. He left Jac to cope with Emma whilst in America when she was practically on her knees (and Sacha and Fletch were named as her guardians should anything happen) and he tried to take custody before.

It's been written that he only ever seems to be bothered in her when he has a 'perfect mummy' figure around to actually take care of her (Bonnie and now Stacey).

Poor Emma :( Both her parents aren't great.

It amused me that the mp got hit with fireworks tonight, the irony wasn't lost haha! :) Shame it took that to actually make her any good at her job though (well potentially... given that poor Josie carked it before she could get her bins sorted...!)

Dom really deserves better than Lofty - I get that Helen had no idea he was bi/married so she can't be blamed for what happened in that sense but Lofty is treating them both appallingly. And given she's clearly still in love with Lofty despite it all she's doing the same to Dom too. He shouldn't step on toes of the baby's parents (like Stacey shouldn't with Jac and Jonny) but also they shouldn't treat him like he doesn't exist. And Lofty being a nurse should under stand doctor/patient confidentiality. Of COURSE he couldn't tell Lofty about the baby! But Lofty keeps using it as another stick to beat Dom with despite Lofty being the one who caused it!

MyOtherProfile · 06/11/2019 05:58

Lofty is truly awful and always has been. He treats people really badly just so he can find what HE really wants. And yet it feels like we are supposed to see him as a lovely gentle bloke. Well we are not taken in, Holby writers! Plus his hair is more awful than anyone with a mirror would allow. Are there no hairdressers in Holby?

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 06/11/2019 06:33

I think that, while obviously not as viciously abusive as Isaac, Lofty is another terrible partner for Dom. I have never believed in their relationship because I can't see what is good enough about it to make all the angst worthwhile. And Lofty is so unbelievably self-centred! I can't remember the last time we saw him do something selfless for Dom.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 06/11/2019 07:51

I wonder if he gets such poor writing because they writers are irritated by the constant long breaks lee takes?

It must really narrow storylines

Optimist1 · 06/11/2019 07:59

The silver lining among all the gloom last night was that we appear to have the old Ric back. That'll do for me. Wink

I found last night a very odd episode.

I don't recall ever seeing Josie as a character before, even though she knows all the staff and has had numerous operations.

The whole 150th 'celebrations' things though? why would the DoN be organising that? Holby is a huge hospital, there would be other people in management/admin who would do that. It was a non event, just Fletch Josie and the MP woman. I get they were trying to show how hard done by the NHS is with Ric and Fletch doing their hissy fits, the disgruntled with waiting times relative and the tour being cut short because of an emergency, but this sort of event would have been properly organised with lots of people attending, not just relying on staff who are too busy to come and loads of empty chairs.

Best bit was Mange prancing around in her pyjamas!

Still, with Emma conveniently out of the way, Jac can now have another breakdown.

I keep looking at Ric's head and wondering why his hair wasn't shaved where he had his operation.

spiderlight · 06/11/2019 09:23

Oi! Leave Lofty's hair alone!! I love it.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 06/11/2019 09:42

I thought Ric was eyeing up the MP at one point!

Poor Jac, Emma and Elliott.

Yes, I knew Josie wasn't' going to make it beyond the end of the episode.

Casualty and Holby City are becoming very 'preachy' about the state of the NHS. What is said seems true but the comments are making it sound like a political broadcast!

PretendLife · 06/11/2019 09:54

Yes, that's it, like a political broadcast. It makes me cringe when they do that, so 'staged'. The whole walking round the wards with one old lady and an MP did the same, I felt embarrassed for Fletch.

I thought there was a little moment between Fletch and the MP when they shook hands and then when he saw her at the end.

QueenofmyPrinces · 06/11/2019 20:32

Why was Ange wearing pyjamas?????

I felt really sorry for Jac.....not too sure why she was taking Emma to the Morgue though?!

Nonnymum · 06/11/2019 22:51

To be fair it always has been.. I remember Charlie as a shop steward for the nurses in the early days. And there were always story lines about the state of the hospital and staffing.

MyOtherProfile · 07/11/2019 04:44

Nooooo! whips out comb and sharp scissors

spiderlight · 07/11/2019 08:54

@QueenofmyPrinces - Emma asked why she wasn't allowed to touch the medical equipment after she'd pressed a button on that woman's backpack heart thing, and Jac said 'I'll show you why' and was presumably going to show her a dead body to shock her into realising she could have killed someone. Not the finest parenting moment ever!
