Starts tonight 9pm
Family drama that flashes forward into the future.

Unfortunately I don't think it worked, given the trailer for next week's episode!

CaptainMyCaptain · 30/05/2019 09:02

Unfortunately not!

Clawdy · 30/05/2019 09:39

That long trailer at the end of each episode gives away far too much, why do they do that? I try and switch over, but not always quickly enough!

CaptainMyCaptain · 30/05/2019 09:49

I think the whole concept of the programme is that Rook gets to be PM so the trailers aren't spoilers in that sense. It's what happens afterwards - did the spoiler suggest a bit of abuse of the disabled character (sorry I'm useless with names) she who thought Rook's no-nonsense plain speaking was so refreshing.

SapphireBattersea · 30/05/2019 10:01

I can't believe Stephen is shagging his co worker as well 😔

2rebecca · 30/05/2019 11:10

I hate trailers. They do give stuff away and are unnecessary

CaptainMyCaptain · 30/05/2019 11:39

I didn't realise she was a co-worker. I thought she was a 'professional'. (I'm sure you are right but I missed that.)

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/05/2019 12:12

Tbh @2rebecca I think we all knew Viv as pm was on the cards from day 1. But agree they could leave us in suspense just a little bit!

Figgygal · 30/05/2019 15:19

I have watched All three on iPlayer today can't wait for the next one.

What a premise and Emma Thompson's character is just demonic

JaynePoole · 30/05/2019 17:26

I don't think she'll be PM, the Tories won, just. Rook will be King Maker.

I didn't like the ending at first, I thought why such pointless unkindness. But then I realised, that's the point. The creeping permission to be unkind.

Violetparis · 30/05/2019 17:37

I think the running over of the bike wasn't just about unkindness but was about anger, rage and intolerance.

JaynePoole · 30/05/2019 18:33

Absolutely, anger at his financial situation, his job situation, his father's death... but with a tacit political permission to express that by an act of violence and cruelty to a stranger.

mrsb345 · 30/05/2019 18:35

I'm bloody terrified watching this 😱 DH has reassured me that it'll all be ok. Such a gripping drama, amazing actors/actresses!

Limer · 30/05/2019 19:26

Following my disbelief about petrol stations, interestingly there seem to be electric car charge points in the street by this episode!

I'm still gripped by this, it's getting better every week. Thought they could've made more of the election though, why have only Conservative & Labour winning seats? Just goes to show that truth is stranger than fiction, both those parties are about to implode thanks to Brexit.

JaynePoole · 30/05/2019 19:48

And the girls' car had an autodrive function.

Limer · 30/05/2019 20:06

And the girls' car had an autodrive function.

Yes! And I think it was a 68 plate (2018?) so must have been converted after then.

TheLastNigel · 30/05/2019 20:09

I really like it-but it is quite unsettling.

SimonJT · 30/05/2019 20:25

@Limer there have been charge points in manchester for a while, there are quite a few on street ones in Chorlton.

Limer · 30/05/2019 21:49

There are some here in Birmingham too SimonJT but that bloke just walked out of his house and his car was plugged in where it was parked on the street. Struck me as a nod to the future!

SushiGo · 30/05/2019 22:09

We're a smallish town and due to get a couple of street parking electric charge points soon. They've been around in nearest cities carparks for ten years at least?

Anyway. I am pretty baffled by Edith! Wtf to drinking the water cremation gunk? She is clearly not coping very well and no one seems to have noticed.

The bike running over incident seemed like self-hatred to a certain extent. He's a courier himself now.

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/05/2019 22:10

I guess Edith thought what the hell, given she's not got that long left to live.

SushiGo · 30/05/2019 22:18

Sorry, just looked it up first electric car charging points in 2011 in local city so by 2027?ish? A bank of on road ones in the city seems reasonable.

SushiGo · 30/05/2019 22:19

Yeah, you're probably right about Edith.

She seems extremely afraid of death at the same time.

IrishGal21 · 30/05/2019 23:45

"Tsunamis are a modern invention..." well, could be....there was the case of the satellite image showing a tsunami at sea and then it suddenly disappeared. SOme say it was a glitch but other that it was man-made as it just disappeared before hitting land, as a natural one would have done. Spooky. This drama is very interesting and gripping and thought-provoking. Who knows what is really going on....

It's like the writers read this thread before episode 3 - people were complaining about the outdatedness of Signor and the petrol car and this episode they had Link or Signor 2 or something and electric cars. Grin
