Bloody hell! We've just watched episode 1. That was intense.

I'm a bit shocked.

High.y recommend the book Chernobyl: history of a tragedy by Serhii plokhy. Really well written and brings the social history to life really clearly.

Not my usual kind of read but I so enjoyed the tv series (if that doesn't sound odd) and couldn't put the book down.

I'm definitely ordering the book. I've been obsessed with Chernobyl on the back of watching this. I've recommended it to everyone. It needs to win every award.

And actually I think the bloke who played Dyatlov was brilliant. It takes a lot of commitment to play an arrogant prick so well. Id have hopped it when he roared as well!

Fun fact: Boris's exact cause of death has never been revealed. It would look bad if it was cancer and he was dead within 4 years.

Thank you @carlywurly will hop over to Amazon.

@WhentheRabbitsWentWild That is really good, we don't have the part of the package that you have to pay for, to watch archived stuff.

DH is finally happy for my Amazon Prime as we've moved over to Vikings.

I really liked Boris, I joked I had a crush on him, in real life he doesn't look like Boris though.
