Well ignore me about oz! I tried to find it a few years ago and couldn’t, but just there’s the whole series box set on eBay for about £15!

MorrisZapp · 07/05/2019 09:03

One show from the 80s that will never be repeated is Tutti Frutti, starting Robbie Coltrane and Emma Thompson.

My parents were obsessed with that show! I loved it too. The first big 'omg telly isn't real' moment of my life was finding out that Emma Thompson isn't actually Glaswegian :) She played Suzi Kettles, in a role she has never bettered.

It was about a rock and roll band, and the producers never bothered getting permission to use the huge US soul standards they packed the show with, so it'll never see the light of day again despite huge popular and critical acclaim (and Richard Wilson).

@frouby I bought this life on amazon - I've just finished binge watching it. Joyful but god I feel old now. I was 17 when it came out and it made me desperate to be starting my shiny adult life in a houseshare!

Frouby · 07/05/2019 09:15

Ohhhhh thank you 800msprint, will have a look later! I was also 17ish, maybe 18 when it came out and was really shocked by it and also really excited by leaving home.

ChicCroissant · 07/05/2019 09:24

Miss Toner (Tutti Frutti, it was the way Richard Wilson said it!)

Little House on the Prairie is on True Entertainment every day usually, often with The Waltons. We watch reruns of MASH on there in the evenings.

Box sets I would like to buy and never get round to:- Drop the Dead Donkey, original Dallas, Golden Girls.

I also liked Ally McBeal but it did get a bit odd towards the end.

BigFatLiar · 07/05/2019 09:41

Star Cops, a more realistic sci-fi.detective series
The original Dr Who's
The Word, a mini series based on a book by Irving Wallace

le1la · 07/05/2019 09:42

Pushing Daisies! It's on YouTube but it's £2 per episode Sad
ER.

nelsonmuntzslingshot · 07/05/2019 09:46

The original Beverly Hills 90210 and Blossom. I loved these two shows.

Binglebong · 07/05/2019 11:06

Bugs. Although the futuristic tech will be very old hat now!

The West Wing is currently being repeated on one of the freeview channels.

Moondancer73 · 07/05/2019 11:42

Rentaghost. True happy childhood memories.

delilabell · 07/05/2019 11:42

@missyB1 waking the dead is being shown on one of the free view channels and I think on BBC

Dulra · 07/05/2019 13:34

Thirty something watched it when I was a teenager. I'm 40 something now so figure I'd get a whole new perspective on it.
Would also like to see moonlighting and Northern exposure again.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 07/05/2019 13:37

I loved The Grimleys too.

Ally McBeal used to be on either Netflix or Amazon Prime, can't remember which.

For me it has to be Cracker and Band of Gold.

BellMcEnd · 07/05/2019 13:44

Wish Me Luck - war time drama series. Loved it

Also would like to see Capital City again. That was great.

Who Sir? Me Sir? CBBC drama in the 80s about a group of kids in a comp taking on the posh private school in a triathlon or something. Was my favourite programme ever as a child.

pallisers · 07/05/2019 14:01

I'd love to watch Reckless again.

I bought a box set of thirtysomething a while back - also watched it when a teenager in Ireland and it was really funny watching it as parent living in the US.

RoyalCorgi · 07/05/2019 16:38

I really thought I wanted to watch Tutti Frutti again. Then they finally released it on DVD and I started watching it and found it really really slow. Gave up in the end!

I'd like to see Trinity Tales -1970s series by Alan Plater about a group of Wakefield Trinity rugby fans who travel to Wembley to the cup final and tell each other stories on the way. Loosely based on the Canterbury Tales. Each episode is a story.

MorrisZapp · 07/05/2019 16:43

I'm willing to bet almost all these shows would disappoint if seen again. I'll never forget getting excited that uktv were showing Minder again.

I managed about ten minutes before I had to have my toes surgically uncurled.

SheeshKebab · 07/05/2019 16:45

One Tree Hill. I can't afford to buy it on Amazon. I used to have the box set but sold it when I was even more skint than I am now 😔 hopefully it comes to Netflix or prime soon!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 07/05/2019 16:46

The Big 'C' with Laura Linney. And Nurse Jackie with Eddie Falco. I can't watch them again because I know how they end which is the whole point of the story arcs but I wish I'd never seen them so that I could have that pleasure all over again.

SheeshKebab · 07/05/2019 16:47

Oh and Hart of Dixie. I didn't see the end when it was on TV💔

leckford · 07/05/2019 16:48

Will and Grace so funny and ahead of it’s time

AnyoneButAnton · 07/05/2019 16:53

We’ve got the Goodies DVD. Unfortunately
A) the laugh track is intrusive almost to the point of unwatchability
B) the “I’m doing a camp voice and might be gay, tee-hee” jokes have aged very badly indeed. Monty Python got away with that sort of stuff because they had a gay man on the team to bring a slightly more nuanced tone, but the Goodies didn’t.

Kitten Kong is still a cracker, because there’s a laugh track-free version on the DVD.

Pigpogtastic · 07/05/2019 16:54

American Gothic. Not the recent show but the one from the 90s with Gary Cole as the evil, probably the devil, Sheriff. It got cancelled and I was so disappointed. It really ought to appear on Netflix or something.

DrEmilyCrabtree · 07/05/2019 17:00

Love Quantum Leap!! I have all 5 series on DVD!

Would love Cold Case to be on DVD or regularly on TV. Such a great show - think I had a daily appointment with it when off film from work one year. I have only seen the occasional one on Pick channel since we got rid of sky.

Igotmylipstickon · 07/05/2019 17:07

The Secret Life of Us (Australian)
