I thought she died

Prequelle · 30/04/2019 11:25

I might be making false memories there ha

Lweji · 30/04/2019 11:37

Episode 3 was very slow, tense, but slow.

Hopefully 4,5 & 6 will be more speedy and action packed.

What? I could barely keep up with who was fighting who.
More action than this battle?

Loopytiles · 30/04/2019 11:38

Jon was instrumental: persuaded Dany to join the fight, and bring her armies and dragonglass.

He has a claim on the Iron Throne and, as Sansa said to Dany, what happens now they have defeated the NK? Dany, armies depleted, will want to take down Cersei and take the throne for herself.

The Sansa/Tyrion discussion in the crypt about Tyrion’s loyalties, overheard by Missandei, was also interesting.

Brienne shouldn’t go near Jamie due to the incest!

TheInvestigator · 30/04/2019 11:41

@SapatSea

She was brought to Ramsay along with Rickon. Then she was brought in whilst Ramsay was eating an apple, and he slit her throat with his knife. Happened ages ago.

SapatSea · 30/04/2019 11:48

Thanks TheInvestigator I'd forgotten all about that.

agirlhasnonameX · 30/04/2019 11:52

Agree with Lewji, the whole episode this week was action, would be overkill if the next one was too. Think we've been waiting a while for it to get back to politics, Im quite looking forward to it.

Doobigetta · 30/04/2019 11:55

Wow, that was amazing. Don’t agree that Arya killing the NK didn’t work. The situation was so dire, and they were so outnumbered, that it was always going to be a one on one showdown with the NK that decided it, we just thought it would be Jon. But it needed an assassin, not a warrior.

My predictions for the surviving characters:

Dany- will go Mad Queen-ish, and Jon will have to kill her.

Jon- will end up on the Iron Throne. Isolated and miserable but doing his duty.

Sansa- will realise she loves Tyrion but Cersei will fuck that up. Will end up Lady of Winterfell.

Arya- will head off into the sunset for the next adventure.

Tyrion- I think will probably be murdered by Cersei or someone acting for her, just as he gets his HEA with Sansa

Jaime- will kill Cersei to avenge Tyrion’s murder

Brienne- will probably die saving either Jaime or Sansa

Davos- will be Jon’s Hand

Sam- will head off to Oldtown to document the Lessons Learned

Bran- tree

Tormund- will be given one of the Northern castles/lordships or maybe new Lord Commander

Gendry- will be made Lord Baratheon and given Storm’s End or Dragonstone

Euron- dispatched eventually by one of the big hitters- Jon, Brienne, the Hound, Tormund. Maybe Jaime.

Not sure about Varys. Probably back as Master of Spies, running his little birds.

Prequelle · 30/04/2019 12:15

I wonder if we get Clegane-bowl. The hound hasn't come this far to not have his moment with his bro

youngestisapsycho · 30/04/2019 12:17

I dont think that would end well.. The Mountain looks unbeatable!

Tightarseparent1 · 30/04/2019 12:21

Jaime and Briene will be we have a shag (I hope not any way) I think they do love each other but it’s on a much higher level than a sexual one.

I’m not bothered at all about Jon not killing the the NK, John isn’t the hero of the the program. I think he is the glue that’s bonds then together.

The battle with cerci has to be better than last nights episode. I don’t know how they will top it tbh.

I’m not too over invested in tying up loose ends. I don’t think it’s going to be remotely like Lost. There will be a definitive ending.

If Cersei is left alive and still sat on the iron throne ( even though she has been magnificent through out) ill feel like a deflated saggy balloon.

So looks like a few quiet episodes then the kicker at the end!

ElenadeClermont · 30/04/2019 12:22

I have to stand up for Jaime a little bit. He is very loyal. He only ever loved Cersei. Never strayed still.
Jaime respects Brienne. If he ever turns on Cersei, it will be to protect Brienne.

Tightarseparent1 · 30/04/2019 12:22

But it needed an assassin, not a warrior

Perfectly put!

Tightarseparent1 · 30/04/2019 12:25
  • won’t have a shag!
Tightarseparent1 · 30/04/2019 12:30

I’m thinking now after the ‘bitter sweet’ ending Jon won’t be alive at the end. Maybe it will be Sansa, Tyrion and Aria

KoalaTea · 30/04/2019 12:32

Dany can't be queen. We've been led to believe she can't bear any more children. Putting her on the throne would be a moot point because who succeeds her?

If she wed John, Sansa would be next in line, I think.. or Arya.

TheQueef · 30/04/2019 12:33

I'm convinced Sansa is to be queen.
Maybe queen of the North but this series and has shown her full arc from stupid girl to business head.
The way Tyrion kissed her hand!
Brienne would be better with Thormund he worships her.
They could rule Bear island in his namesakes honour Lyanna giantsbane was she still only 10?

ElenadeClermont · 30/04/2019 12:34

Lyanna Giantsbane ❤

agirlhasnonameX · 30/04/2019 12:47

Tyrion wants a democracy after Dani is dead. I think that's why he looks worried in S7 when Jon and Dani get together. They go on too much about how Dani can't get pregnant for her not to get pregnant now.

thetemptationofchocolate · 30/04/2019 12:56

I am expecting at least one of the remaining dragons to die - remember Cersei's dragon-killing catapult-thing? What if one of the dragons get shot with that and plummets? With a rider on board? It could be quite a spectacular way to kill off Jon or Dany.

Wasn’t a fan of this episode at all. Far too much time spent on random melee, too dark and too many quick changes of scene. Also, one minute you saw the dead swarming up the castle walls and the living vastly outnumbered, the next the castle was basically deserted until the NK raised the fallen. Too long spent watching dragons fly rather aimlessly round in clouds, and from about halfway the ending felt totally predictable.

Massive disappointment here, felt it under-delivered compared to what was promised in episode 2. And hardly realistic that basically all the main characters survived.

ElenadeClermont · 30/04/2019 13:12

Drogon's struggle with the wights on the ground was a re-enactment of the storming of the Dragonpit when a lot of the Targaryen dragons were killed by a frenzied mob during the Dance of the Dragons.

Tilikum · 30/04/2019 13:39

@JasperRising

I did seem odd that they showed Alys with Theon. She hadn't volunteered at the pre battle strategy meeting and, unlike Lyanna, there has been no indication that she was a 'warrior' type. I can't work out what the purpose would be other than having the house gone. Either that or some scenes that would have made sense (ie: her volunteering) were cut.

I don't think it was covered in the TV show but in the books Alys Karstark was a brave and headstrong noble girl who ran away from her family and married a Thenn at Castle Black, so she seems like the type who would want to fight.

There are hardly any noble houses left. Mormont, Umber, Karstark, Tyrell, Martell, Bolton, Frey and Baratheon are all wiped out (except for Gendry but he's a bastard).

House Tarly only has Sam, House Tully only has Edmure (a prisoner of the Lannisters), House Arryn only has Robin (where is he anyway?). The Lannisters have no surviving children.

Maybe the end game is the abolition of all noble houses?

Lweji · 30/04/2019 13:42

Tyrion wants a democracy after Dani is dead.

That's what I'm rooting for at the end, but is it likely in a Medieval type setting?
