Anyone else caught this new series? The idea is that two architects present different approaches to the renovation/extension/remodel (so far, so humdrum) but then the ideas are presented to the couple in Virtual Reality so they can walk through the scheme to properly visualise how it works. I'd absolutely love to do this: I have no ability to visualise spaces presented on paper plans, especially sizes of rooms. (Unfortunately we have no budget to do it so I'll have to make do with property programmes for now!) There's only been one episode so far but I was impressed by how different the two architects' ideas and styles were to one another (not just your bifold doors and steel supported open plan kitchen that seems to be the go-to for every George Clark and Kirsty Allsop plan). I also like the presenter, who I'd never seen before.

I don't get that bench seating along the window, unless you've got a lot of sunshine in the winter, someone will get a cold back all the time sitting there.
And call me too practical, but heating all that open plan downstairs.

Very much prefer Laura's design, much more sensible, imho.

It annoys me that they don't really look into the feasibility side. Getting rid of the walls is surely QUITE A BIG structural job. More than 45k ?

Yes a curtain is just as good as a wall said no one ever. Noise cancelling headphones needed all round.

Flimsy net curtains are not going to cut it as a way of closing off areas of a music room. Duh.

Ridiculous. Thing is they've pitched a radical architect against one who's more practical and in tune with how people actually want to live. People are generally conservative and are always going to go with her ideas

Robert is one of those men who likes to be the centre of attention as he gently strums his guitar, I think.
And he's found a kindred spirit in tidy beardy man.

So despite the 1 million seats, there is no escaping the performative guitar.
