Really enjoyed it last night, also welled up a bit with the Pat scenes Sad

I hope there's going to be a second series, I think there's only 3 episodes left so i don't think we'll get the back stories to all the other ghosts (unless it's rushed).

The80sweregreat · 30/04/2019 09:36

So funny when the poet started quoting Kylie lyrics.

it was much better last night and i did feel sorry for Pat.

Must have been hard to film and stand around pretending not to see the person behind or in front of you though.

Mrsjayy · 30/04/2019 09:45

You were just waiting on his Kylie poem bless him Grin

tkband3 · 30/04/2019 12:04

@covetingthepreciousthings next time I see him I certainly will and will try to remember to report back! Don't see him that often but he's a lovely man. DD3 sometimes walks with me and she had a fab chat with him all the way round the park a couple of months ago.

Loved the Pat back story last night too.

The80sweregreat · 30/04/2019 12:06

Pat is a nice ghost too! Just wants to be someones friend.

Bringbackthestripes · 30/04/2019 14:16

I was a bit meh for the first episode but I found the next one a lot funnier and last night was a bit sad for Pat but I am really enjoying the series. I always enjoyed HH when DC was young enough to watch them too.

tkband3 what sort of dog has he got? Will you tell him that MN are discussing it and enjoying it? Grin I hope they do another series. I want to find out about that lot in the cellar.

The80sweregreat · 30/04/2019 15:15

Its an odd little show really, the ghosts play their part well and you can ( almost) believe that she can see them where others can't.
I like the ' wench' ghost as well as Pat. You can imagine ghosts behaving like this! ( ive always had an over active imagination though!)

tkband3 · 30/04/2019 21:37

@Bringbackthestripes he has a gorgeous black miniature Schnauzer. I generally find this breed a bit grumpy, but his one is absolutely lovely and really friendly. And I certainly will tell him about this thread and how much everyone's enjoying the series next time I see him Smile.

Cooroo · 30/04/2019 23:33

Best line so far: 'Who are you going to call?'

EleanorReally · 01/05/2019 06:53
Grin I should be so lucky, lucky lucky Love to watch this
HotPriest · 01/05/2019 08:08

Did the Plague ghosts now have a light left on for them in the basement? Might be reading too much into that scene as I liked the way Alison seemed to be looking out for them.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 01/05/2019 08:19

Really enjoying this, caught it on iplayer so wasn't sure if it was a children's programme or not.
Despite being a sweary myself, it's quite nice to have a comedy without any swearing.

Usurper53245677 · 01/05/2019 08:33

DS 12 asked how the politician could have died having sex. I said he might have had a heart attack. Probably not the time to bring up auto asphyxiation or whatever...

Would like to see more like the doctor, and the Victorian woman pushing the pram.

notacooldad · 01/05/2019 10:22

I enjoyed it and it was quite amusing. I'll be watching it again.

I used to love the Ghosts of Motley Hall.
As a side, the authority I work for owns Borwick Hall, where the programme was filmed and I used to stay over there a lot on residentials. I still go to BH a couple of times a year and get a thrill out of knowing TGOMH being filmed there and recognising the rooms and staircases!
I still nearly freak out when I have to sleep in the ' coffin room'. As the name suggests in the past the dead were put in there!! These days it's just a small bedrooom overlooking the gardens, not at all sinister but on dark nights your imagination can go crazy.

greentreeseverywhere · 01/05/2019 16:17

I actually cried when pat had a grandchild....something wrong with me 😭

Mrsjayy · 01/05/2019 16:33

No not at all it was very sweet that Pat has a grandson Grin

SoupDragon · 01/05/2019 16:45

I loved the bit when Pat saw the bright light. I thought that was going to be how the series went - one by one they would move on to the next stage. I laughed when it turned out to be builders

Saucery · 01/05/2019 16:50

Bamber Gascoigne owns the Hall where it is filmed, which is an interesting, yet random, fact Grin

I don’t know why they don’t have some of the antiques priced up to sell to fund some of the building work.
Loved the honest, hard working builders who wouldn’t put up with Alison’s accusations and nip off early to build play schemes for deprived children.
I cried when Pat got shot in the neck and stumbled around saying it was a bit cold, never mind when he found he had a grandson!

The80sweregreat · 01/05/2019 17:33

I liked the honest builders too.

Singleandproud · 01/05/2019 17:49

9 year old DD loves the HH crew and we have just finished Yonderland on NowTV which they filmed. She is enjoying Ghosts but as they are so short I watch them first and then just turn it down or chat to her during the inappropriate sex chatter, she hasnt found it particularly scary so far.

cushioncovers · 01/05/2019 19:54

I laughed when the posh older ghost lady saw the builders bums.

Mrsjayy · 01/05/2019 19:58

I love screaming Fanny Grin she is hilarious and they knew what they were doing when they named her !

Bravelurker · 01/05/2019 20:30

I downloaded it to watch on the plane - big mistake, I surprised myself and the people sitting next to me by suddenly howling and it became really awkward as I got the giggles . It's not my usual cup of tea as I hate sitcoms but I found it so funny.
I love that the caveman thinks her name is Kim WildeGrin.

Bravelurker · 01/05/2019 20:32

Omg, The bright light was freaking hilarious.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 01/05/2019 20:39

I am loving this.

Times like this I love the BBC.
