I like it too - but we need rid of that cow Val, and the 10-minute face-off thing should go.

Yep get rid of super irritating Val and the 10 minute challenge and it would be much better.

Just started watching this today. The "ding dong" thing is really pissing me off, but I like the concept of the show.

I don't mind Val. Stacey is a bit dull though. Claudia Winkleman would be better. Someone more funny.

Ugh no, not Claudia W. Just seeing her face annoys me, before she;s even spoken a word.

Honestly can't watch anything she is on, she irritates me that much.

Definitely not CW! It needs someone different. I like Claudia tho.

Agree there's a spark or something missing from this show! I can't quite put my finger on it. I think it's the editing. Val's ding dong catchphrase had potential but falls flat and feels forced. I like the advice that Dominic gives and the way they confer, I think we should see more of them actually.

Stacey's accent grated on me but I quite like her. She's not overly excitable which can be annoying in some presenters.

Started watching this because I'm a LARPer and some of the more special effects type makeup is really cool. The format needs work as the red chairs don't really work and I find the female judges glasses very silly, also finding the themes a bit pointless but that's probably because I don't do makeup or read fashion magazines, so to me the rebellion etc themes don't seem to mean anything.

Last week i wondered if the judges had someome who they wanted to win the show and now that i have seen the semi final i am convinced that this is true. They know that nikki wont win and that is why she is in the final. Makes the final judging easier because it is only between two people.

I'm not fully up to date with it but it's strangely appealing as background viewing.

Agreed the red chair thing doesn't work. Neither does the face off. I liked it when the winner of the first round got advice from the expert though.

Just started to watch the final. Hoping Ellis can do it!!!

I've just watch too. The way the final was set up was stupid and the looks on the first round were really boring.

But the right person won

Certainly the right one won. TBH I hadn't expected anyone else after Belinda and Tiffany were dismissed.

I would say it was laughable though, that they found the need to bring out magnifying glasses to judge the face-off, and claimed that it was "really, really hard to call".

I also liked Belinda & Tiffany. Shame neither of them were in the final.

Love Ellis though

When they reviewed their past work all of nikki's was sub par.
So what was the point of that final face of. Would they really have let her win if Ellis had messed up.

Yes aristocat - I love Ellis too, and think he would have stood a good chance of winning even if Belinda and Tiffany were in the final. It would have been a much more exciting competition, though.

lovecats - that made me wonder, too. Nikki was a one-trick pony, and I don't know how she managed to hang in there for so long against much more able competitors.

I really think that Val was jealous of the girls and was determined to keep them out of the final -I think she felt threatened by them.

Nikkis time management was a huge issue and I cannot imagine that she could have won either.

I was so irritated by Nikki getting to the final that I couldn't bring myself to watch. So, I'm very grateful to those of you who did and glad to hear who won!

You didn't miss much, Ellis was the only one who produced good work. Mainly because all the talented artists were knocked out by nikki in face offs.

They did a look each, then the worst - leigh went home and thr final two did a face off.

The right person won for sure. And it was such a shame that the final wasn’t between Ellis, Tiffany and Belinda. They were robbed for sure. If the final episode took into account the work each MUA has done over the series then Nikki couldn’t possibly have won so it was an absolute waste of a place in the final for someone who had a really good chance. Interesting that you picked up on Val seeing the other, more talented artists as a threat Schaden

I couldn’t believe how rubbish Leigh’s transformation look was. Even as someone with no knowledge of these things, I could tell it wouldn’t photograph well as was so pale and faintly delineated. The only illusion was that it made him look like he had a weird, fat upper lip. And just scrawling ‘to be continued’ in what looked like black marker pen, was so pathetic and juvenile. Very disappointing. All Ellis needed to do to win was a half competent job in both rounds. Good for him though he really pulled out the stops for the transformation. Hopefully he’ll go on to have a good career.
