Anyone else notice the "you're a saint" comment from Hot misogynist? Could be a Mary Magdeline thing.... she is a saint... was portrayed as a prostitute but she was an intelligent woman. She was wealthy because of her father but didn’t need her father or a husband to define her...

Is anyone else irrationally nervous about the last episode? I just can't quite believe that she's going to walk off into the sunset with HP and all will be well. And surely Claire and FB can't both have a happy ending, can they?

I still don’t see how this can end well but I do so hope that it will. I think that we are supposed to infer that they are falling in love and I am now rooting hard for them. I think that is why she told Claire, and also why Claire gave him the address. I think that when she was cut off by the doorbell she was about to admit to us that she loves him, and that he realised during their conversation that actually whether or not they had sex he was already falling in love with her. I am also convinced that this is why she pushed us away at the end - it was the first time we’ve ever seen her have a genuine emotional connection with a sexual partner and it was too intimate to share.

Elsewhere, I was thrilled with the reconciliation with Claire and the promise of some happiness for her; the ‘hair is everything’ scene was amazing; and how nice to see Hugh Dennis back. Overall a very satisfying episode and one of the funniest for a while.

I have absolutely no idea how they are going to wrap everything up in 27-ish minutes next week.

Yes, she loves him and they have this understanding of each other that is breaking down the 4th wall. When he comes along he is the first person in her life to really see her for who she is and understand that, appreciate it and make her feel that she can follow her "true self" without anyone defining her or putting on what is expected of her. I think the same goes for him and maybe we will see that in the next episode how she begins to hear him... when he said "we're going to have sex" did he hear her say it first through the 4th wall or is it just because they are both being true to themselves? Ahh my heart aches!

I also loved the fact that he was sober because he wanted to “keep a clear head” so he knew his feelings weren’t drink fuelled.

I wonder what he wanted to tell her before the doorbell rang.

Ooh I’ve just thought, maybe he was abused by his brother as a child and that’s why he turned to God and drink.

I was uncomfortable with them getting together in episode 4 but have rewatched that too and actually love him kneeling with her. They're vulnerable together.
