Even though he is young enough (just) to be a grandchild of mine!!

Raahh · 29/03/2019 07:39

I Stan got a nice Bear for his birthday.

The commentators need new material Grin.
Zverev said the other day he considers Shaggy his biggest rival- although Stefanos has surely got to be the one snapping at his heels more at the moment.

Looks like the weather will be quite nice here today. Was freezing on Wednesday, and really warm yesterday!

Raahh · 29/03/2019 07:41

Magi GrinGrin

PrivateIsles · 29/03/2019 09:46

magi Grin love it!! I wonder if Shaggy is playing Eastbourne again this year?...

Maybe Zverev is playing a few mind games saying that about Shaggy? I would have also thought Tsitsipas would be the more likely rival as well.

Shaggy plays Fed next, the biggest age difference ever in a match (ok maybe not ever, but I think it's something like that). I hadn't realised Isner was already in the semi final Hmm

It's a gorgeous day here too Raahh which made me realise what a mess the garden is in Hmm I have just left it over winter and now suddenly I've realised it's a bit of a tip. So that's today's activity sorted. Although... it's supposed to go cold again next week, so maybe I just won't bother! Grin

JaneJeffer · 29/03/2019 10:06

magi ShockGrin

I wonder if Federer is feeling old looking across the net at these young guns.

Raahh · 29/03/2019 10:30

Private I've had the exact same thoughts regarding our garden. It's getting really long, and it's worse, because all the other gardens have been cut ( mainly by the same gardener!), but I just haven't the energy.

I'll regret it if it rains though, the back gets very little dun and takes forever to dry out!

PrivateIsles · 29/03/2019 18:48

Why do I always end up watching isner's matches?! It feels like every time I turn Prime on, there he is!

Anyway I'm watching him again now, vs young Felix AA and I don't have a good feeling about it. FAA served for the second set but was broken back, so it's surely heading for a tie break. Isner won the first set.

PrivateIsles · 29/03/2019 18:50

Oh and I did nothing in the garden - I had a cup of tea out there, but that was about it Grin

Raahh · 29/03/2019 19:32
Grin

no, I did nothing either. Thought about it.

It's the thought that counts, and all that Grin.

kazzaD66 · 29/03/2019 19:39

Jane Fed may look over the other side of the net and think "I may be old enough to be your father (almost)" but then he thinks "I'm still going to beat you"......and he does ConfusedGrin

PrivateIsles · 29/03/2019 19:52

Thought about it Grin

That's pretty much what I do about most things these days Grin

JaneJeffer · 29/03/2019 22:14

True kazza it probably spurs him on!

DH had a day off work so he mowed the lawn today. I was delighted as it got him out from under my feet.

OP posts:
PrivateIsles · 29/03/2019 23:23

Shaggy is channelling Rafa with tape on both his knees - isn't he only 18 though?! It's a bit worrying if he needs tape at his tender age isn't it? Shock

Some good rallies already (the first game took about 10 mins!).

PrivateIsles · 29/03/2019 23:27

Fed just did that thing where he won his own service game in about 10 seconds "to pile the pressure back on" Shaggy on his serve. I haven't got the sound on but I'm sure this is what the commentators will be saying (so predictable) Grin

Good work with the grass cutting Jane s DH!

magimedi · 30/03/2019 07:02

Has anyone seen Auger-Aliassime (sp?) play? Is he as good as all the media hype?

We have no lawn in our (small) garden. It is a great joy!

PrivateIsles · 30/03/2019 10:27

I've seen a couple of FAA's matches the past few weeks. He's quite different in the way he plays I think - he volleys quite a lot and mixes it up a bit. So he's good to watch from what I saw.

But there's always so much hype about promising players isn't there (eg Dimitrov/the Baby Fed stuff) - hopefully it doesn't affect him negatively.

PrivateIsles · 30/03/2019 20:13

So who's excited for Federer vs Isner??!!

...waits...
Grin sorry. I hope Roger wins. Isner has no business being in finals.

JaneJeffer · 30/03/2019 20:25

Never mind those two - look at Stan's big hammer Bear

Grin love it!!

Stan looks like he's about to take part in one of those fairground things where you test your strength!! Is he?!

JaneJeffer · 30/03/2019 21:08

Maybe he's going on a bear hunt Grin

OP posts:
PrivateIsles · 30/03/2019 21:23

Grin if he is at the fair, he should try one of those grabber machines (I can't think of what they're called! You know the ones with all the soft toys!)

Bear

I actually want Toddler John to beat Smug Fed.

Just because.

I'm Sad because Stefanos and his partner were very narrowly beaten in the doubles.

kazzaD66 · 30/03/2019 22:08

Jane there's a touch of '70's porn star about that photo - Lumberjack Stan and his big tool ConfusedBlushGrin
