My worst "bugbear" is when commentators etc say "if we take clay out of the equation" when looking at players H2H etc like as though that's a separate sport that should be set aside.

They'd be better off taking dung out of the equation (not if Tim has anything to do with it!).

The whole clay vs every other surface has always fascinated me.

Even Federer admits he grew up, playing on clay.

Clearly hard courts being the dominant surface is not great for anyone, because players are not recovering from injury. And there are are more of those than ever before . These days more tournaments are mandatory unless you are Rafa/Fed/Djok.

I am very mithered today (we also use that a lot here). I have a horrible cold which is getting worse instead of better.

I was never a Lendl fan. He was always spitting which grossed me out.

Morning all - just catching up on the drunken tennis chat . Very entertaining.

I always liked Lendl but I’m not really sure why - I think it was the grumpiness, his cheekbones and of course those shorts . I really wanted him to win Wimbledon and still hold a grudge against pat cash for winning that year. Ivan looked so sad while pat cash clambered up into the stands!

I only had 2 glasses, and I'm fine today- but the combination of tiredness and stress meant they went straight to my head. I fell asleep quickly though- which is what I needed. Woke op stupidly early, but can't have everything. .

Speaking of short shorts... Tsitsipas has hit back against Medvedev, 6-1 second set. It's a funny old match this.

I have to go out in five minutes! So not only will I not be able to watch Cam Norrie, I'll also miss the end of Tsitsipas v. Medvedev (their names sound cool together, though!).

Hmm that's disappointed for Stefanos - he looked like he was going to come back and win but no.

GoodLooking ah shame about missing Norrie - I've never even heard of his opponent Norrie is a good clay courter, be interesting to see if he goes through.
