Maybe the dentist ( who is never at work doing any dentistry) will want to pay for William to go to a private school? That was a long conversation Billy had about the school for him ( EE being up to date there ! ) and you could tell Honey isn't that impressed with the local comp ( that the older teens don't seem to go to much either)
A ' private v state' school story might make a change from cancer or bed hopping ones.
I did read on wiki that Sharon used to go to a private school and it caused friction with her friends ( when EE started)
They taught her how to be a gangsters moll and which hair extensions to buy. Useful.

Akire · 01/03/2019 16:25

Not sure where Jean is running to? What happened to putting the kids and the baby first? How much would They have spend seeing doctor and having tests? Β£5k??

The80sweregreat · 01/03/2019 16:31

One consultation would have been around 300 or 400 ? They were in and out in no time.
I'm shocked that Kat hasn't paid ' bad man' Phil his money back! Why not? Even if she gives it back minus the money for jean it's something. He has either forgotten or the whole thing will blow up again when Alfie comes back!

youarenotkiddingme · 01/03/2019 16:40

Phila in Spain rescuing Ken. He'll probably remember when he returns. Although 50k here and there never seems to be much to Phil!

The80sweregreat · 01/03/2019 16:45

Nah, 50 k is chicken feed to our Phil. He can rustle up money anytime he likes it seems.
However, I still think he would have Alfie in a head lock if he did show up again.
I wonder if he will rescue Ken or just let him rot ? His been gone a few weeks now.

Ruby is dropping the charges too! Bad call , but I guess she thought it would be a waste of time now. Sad really.
Will jay ever have a girlfriend?
I bet jean is off to Brighton.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 01/03/2019 17:30

Oh I missed that bit! Oh that’s a shame. Although very accurate reflection of what happens IRL.

nancy75 · 01/03/2019 20:50

Stewart is a very odd man

I’ve really taken to Karen & feel sorry for her tonight

The80sweregreat · 01/03/2019 20:53

Stuart is extremely odd. A good actor but
the writers don't seem to know what to do with him. Plus, why would Sonia have blurted that out about the money? Bad move!

nancy75 · 01/03/2019 20:58

Can’t believe Sonia just took money off Dot to go to the pub!

The80sweregreat · 01/03/2019 21:11

Sonia is ( sort of ) related to her though! She did offer up the money. I have a feeling Stuart will try to scam it from her given half a chance. The dynamic between him and Rainie is also a bit worrying. He is very dangerous.
( I looked up properties in Golders Green. There are some beautiful places worth a mint)
Dot got her tickets for Ireland very quickly! How?
Strange episode all round.

southeastdweller · 01/03/2019 21:13

I laughed out loud at the facial expressions of Raine and Stuart when Sonia told them Dr Legg used to live in Golders Green (where 3 bed houses sell for north of 800k).

The80sweregreat · 01/03/2019 21:18

a humble east end doctor, he kept his wealth hidden away. Such a dark horse eh?
I had no idea that area was so wealthy but my knowledge of that part of London is vague.
I wonder what the Rainie / Stuart thing is leading to? I can't work that out.

nancy75 · 01/03/2019 22:29

He probably bought the house years ago, when nobody wanted to live in Golders Green & houses were cheap. Didn’t we hear he had a nephew or something? Why wouldn’t he leave it to them? I wonder if my local gp would consider putting me in her will Grin

FizzyOrange · 01/03/2019 22:43

Jean looked like she was in a sort of caravan. Very odd, where would that be?

Akire · 01/03/2019 22:50

Kat said the money was for boys? So why didn’t she get their own flat and set up own business and get people working for her? She be racking it in with cleaner for doing no work than be sort of agency. Meanwhile everyone’s working part time with kids and broke.

Not seen tonight’s yet but with no Jean that’s even more childcare and one less worker.

iknowimcoming · 01/03/2019 23:55

So are mick and Linda being shooed out of the way so Stuart can wreak havoc on the pub in their absence? And why was dot behaving so oddly? When the camera panned away from her in the kitchen it looked like we were being set up for her to die or something? I assume we're into the Xmas holiday period now which is why so many of the cast have vanished? Role call for people who are 'away' - Dot, Mick, Linda, Ollie, Alfie, Jack, Max, Jean, Robbie, Ian, Ted, Kim and kids, massood, Phil, Keanu - is that everyone?

SlipperOrchid · 02/03/2019 00:17

When Linda went away the last time, Mick and Shirley couldn’t keep the place running. The roof fell in, they went into huge debt, they ended up trying to sell the pub to a development company. When Mick went away, Linda couldn’t manage. Yet now BOTH of them are going at the same time?!?!?! What kind of business people are they?

southeastdweller · 02/03/2019 00:33

We’re past the Christmas holiday period now. These episodes were shot in the middle of January. Danny Dyer left to go to work on a Harold Pinter play in the west end. Don’t know about the rest.

Choccywoccyhooha · 02/03/2019 01:01

Yes, that scene in the kitchen with Dot on her own had something odd about it. I questioned whether her swan song would reveal that she has been a villain all along. Quite a few people have died on her watch: is Dr Legg the last or will she strike again?

youarenotkiddingme · 02/03/2019 08:56

I also thought they were setting Dot up for death.

Stuart is very odd but I love not knowing what his character will do. It's odd though how they've suddenly drafted Raine in as his antagonist. Why?

The80sweregreat · 02/03/2019 09:28

Nancy , your lucky to see a GP round here let alone be put in their wills!

I did go to Golders Green once in 1984 to visit a friend who moved there but I don't remember it being posh. I'd forgotten that! My 'geography map 'of London is awful even the east end bits where I lived as a kid.

Stuart took the plug out the phone : Dot doesn't have the internet ( or know how to work anyone else's laptop, I'm sure she isn't internet savvy) so how did she book those tickets so quickly without help?
That is bugging me. She also had reams of 20s in her bag didn't she?
I think that Rainie will get the push by Max ( when he returns with all the kids and jack) and then team up with the weird Stuart to wreck havoc. Or he will go back on the drugs.
Yes, loads of them are away and jean is now in a caravan. Brrr must be cold!

iknowimcoming · 02/03/2019 10:25

The80s - Dot does know how to 'do the google' Grin I think fat boy taught her maybe - can't quite remember? But she's been shown using the internet before - I think it was around the same time she was having eye problems?

iknowimcoming · 02/03/2019 10:28

Ooh I wonder if Dot inheriting loads of money is her way of testing Stuart to see if he's genuine? Maybe Sonia's in on it too? I just can't see why they'd do Dot being conned out of money by druggies when it's been done to death and then some with Nick?
