It’s tomorrow - 2 episodes with a half hour break between. Let’s hope they’ve been saving up something good for this, because overall the Christmas / new year storylines have been crap. In years gone by they had some brilliant Christmas/NY episodes ... don’t know what they’ve been thinking of this year!

The best bits have been the incidental moments- Shirl and Tina singing, Karen slinging a bowl full of pudding over her sister etc
The main plot lines- various characters faking death, the same old same old is she pregnant or not - are just boring and badly written.

I absolutely detest seeing characters on tv throwing food. Hated seeing Karen doing it and was disgusted by the Slaters throwing food while eating their Christmas dinner.

I think the Mel/Ray story is great. I really like Mel’s character and find Ray so attractive.

I've quite enjoyed this years Xmas and New Year episodes, compared to last years misery fest, there was drama but some of the other characters got to enjoy themselves. Kats deranged karaoke was a highlight. I wish Alfie had stayed dead though!

Although in soapland no pregnancy exist other than unplanned, crisis or with a dramatic birth, so I'd say the plans will rapidly hit a snag.

Was the wedding the legal one or just the church bit, in which case Nicola has jumped the gun.

I thought that once you've done the vows and the vicar says' man and wife' but then that's it! Your married. ( or not in Mel's case) ?
She was waffling on about money to him in the vestry so this probably means she will become v rich! Without any real explanation. Lol
Did Ray buy out Phil and the club share? That could leave Sharon without a club ( esp when he discovers she was shagging Ken) maybe Phil and Mel will run it together?

I suspect Ray was lying about having more money. The money he had that Mel stole, I bet that wasn’t his money. I reckon there’ll be some scary mafiaesque types come looking for it. Ray always seemed haunted. Not the type to have the security of oodles of cash sitting waiting incase he needs a quick getaway.

I have never really rated Mel as a character until the wedding episode. Absolutely loved her balls at turning up and forcing the wedding.

The dentist is horrible to Honey. Will she go running back to Billy when it all goes wrong?

Probably. I knew it wouldn't last with Honey and the gorgeous dentist. Middle class professional types never stay for long in EE.

I think Sharon and Phil had separate shares in the club but I'm not sure. Phil only sold a "share" and not the whole thing so someone else is co-owner anyway.

£600,000 for a share of the club seems huge but then I dont know anything about east end clubs.
Considering it's hardly ever open and the way they give away free drinks etc it's a wonder it's still going though!

If Phils sold Sharon's share of the club, she will go ballistic. Didn't he do that to her before with the bar? It's odd how now the club is open again no one is running the bar, like the 2 can't coexist...In reality both would be open and making a mint from the east London nighttime party crowd!

Oh yes, the Albert bar , not seen since Aidan took it over from Vincent and Kim! What became? Ian businesses were not open much either ; only the cafe and that's always going.
