Glitterball Shiny new thread.

OP posts:
IHaveBrilloHair · 08/12/2018 21:28

I'd love Ant and Dec to be on but never gonna happen Grin

Wolfcub · 08/12/2018 21:32

Thank you xsquared

SerenDippitty · 08/12/2018 21:40

To be fair to Lauren I think she is ready to leave now and I think she will be horrified if she gets through to the final.

EvaTheOptimist · 08/12/2018 21:41

Dec's too busy in the jungle. Ant could do it!... but also due to height reasons he'd probably get Janette, which isn't good odds for making the final. On the other hand Mrs Ex-Ant does the makeup from strictly doesn't she... so, that isn't going happen!

IRanSoFarAway · 08/12/2018 21:43

Thank you squared.
I really liked Faye and Giovanni's Tango. Loved the music and the violin, was trying to remember where I'd heard it before- was in the film Some like it hot with Jack Lemmon and Joe E Brown doing the tango!!

JustLurkingAway · 08/12/2018 21:47

Thanks xsquared!

Samcro · 08/12/2018 22:09

very late to thread.
lol at Joes dance, he is not T Shelby,
voted 2 for Stacey and 1 for Lauren.\loved Faye, thought Ashleys lifts were brave, but clumsy. (WTF do I know lol)

Igottastartthinkingbee · 08/12/2018 22:24

Place mark! Not sure why I’m still watching cause I don’t really love any of them. Can’t bear Stacey now so anyone but her and Kev is fine by me.

CurbsideProphet · 08/12/2018 22:26

Joe and Lauren could have done with this level of critique from the beginning, not at the semi final.

It's been an odd series for me. Lots of props and faffing, obvious overmarking and favouritism, the whole Sean(n) debacle.

Samcro · 08/12/2018 22:45

I want Stacey to win, If only because it will annoy the people who look down on her.

xsquared · 08/12/2018 22:46

Who is looking down on Stacey Samcro? The support for Stacey far outweighs the negative comments towards her.

MotorcycleMayhem · 08/12/2018 22:50

From the last thread, agree they need to put this level of criticism in earlier. Saving it until now is doing no one any favours.

This entire series has been shallow from the judges, and a fat disappointment of favouritism and bipartisan voting in their part. It's been deeply unhelpful and unfair. At least Len could be counted on to be pleasant to the crap ones but fair to everyone.

Agree the whole thing beeds a bit of a makeover, starting by sacking Tess.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 08/12/2018 22:57

I’d start by sacking Shirley, Bruno & Dave - in no particular order! Followed by Tess.

KitchenDancefloor · 08/12/2018 23:07

Also late to thread...

I have seen some unpopular SCD opinions on these threads, sometimes received with grace, sometimes, well... not so much.

But I don't think I have ever, ever seen support for Tess as a presenter. There are weekly mentions of the robotic and inane presenting style, and to the best of my knowledge, no one has leapt to her defence.

I have seen support for her as a person especially as she is persevering with being married to a right twonk but not as a presenter. How is she still in this job? Genuinely baffled. Let's see what a new producer will do.
(I've put in these emojis because these are the suggestions for 'baffled' 😯 😮 😕 - cute!)

House4 · 08/12/2018 23:09

This is the first time I've enjoyed Joe's dancing even though he got low marks! Is something going on with those two?

dodobookends · 08/12/2018 23:09

I want Stacey to win now.

Ashley really was channeling her inner Kate Bush in that first dance, wasn't she? Second one was fantastic, and that lift was great... although shouldn't the leg in attitude be horizontal from knee to ankle? But I digress...

As other pp's said, Faye wasn't 100% tonight, my suspicions are that either she felt ill, or something was hurting rather a lot.

Was I imagining things, or did I really see Hogwarts caretaker Argus Filch in the audience?

KitchenDancefloor · 08/12/2018 23:14

Monkseal agrees with you about Ashley's muse "Ashley deciding to channel the spirit of Kate Bush for her paso for some reason, which is a…choice"

ChoccyJules · 08/12/2018 23:15

We saw Filch as well!
It was a strange one tonight, the dances I liked were slated by the judges and vice versa. Maybe that's why I'm not a judge...

Jitters22 · 08/12/2018 23:31

One of the comments under Monkseal nails it with Joe coming down to earth getting the marks he should have been getting all along.

bonfireheart · 08/12/2018 23:32

If someone is consistently in the bottom two should the judges keep saving them? I ask because I've always wondered whether previous years results would be different if it was 100% audience choice each week.
Also the judges get their say when they give their points so why are they then allowed to have another say by having a vote off?

dodobookends · 08/12/2018 23:36

We saw Filch as well!!

Glad it wasn't just me then, I thought I was hallucinating for a moment there Grin

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 09/12/2018 00:08

Faye mentioned she had an injury a couple of days ago and I thought she looked tentative tonight although still very good.

I found myself feeling nostalgic for the Debbie and Giovanni Argentinian tango of last year which just seemed to smoulder a bit more. And I think D and G had more chemistry in general.

On the other hand, I liked Faye in the manic Lonely Goatherd routine, although she may have been upstaged somewhat by the goats.

ISawSassyKissingSantaClaus · 09/12/2018 00:09

Checking in. Not watched the 2nd dances yet, will catch up in the morn. Read end of last thread and sounds like Lauren needs to go...
