I think it's part dance competition, part popularity, part entertainment, best improved, best attitude, best partnership and chemistry, best sincerity, sense of humour and some weight loss ...

The sad thing is, if those celebs with previous experience keep getting the sort of spiteful vitriol that has been around (DVO, Alexandra Burke, and now Ashley), the producers will be unable to get any decent ones to take part in it in future as it just won't be worth the risk of the detrimental effect on their mental health.

It reminds me of being at school where folk gang up on the "clever girl", just to make sure she suffers in some way for being clever.
Horrible.

Apologies if I've missed it already but here are 2/3rds of the dances for Saturday

Pasha/Ashley - judges pick - Salsa to I've had the time of my life plus show dance to Keeping your Head Up by Birdy

Faye and Joe Varney - judges pick - Viennese waltz and show dance to Lullaby of Broadway

Joe and Diane - judges pick, his Paso and show dance to I bet you look good on the dance floor

Stacey and Kevin - judges pick Foxtrot and show dance to Land of A Thousand Dances

Joe's Paso was horrendous!

its not just Ashley who has had a bad time this season.
Sean and Danny have also.
I havn't seen "spiteful" posts just people not wanting a ring to win and not liking the judges bias.

We like Joe and Stacey in our house.

Mainly love Stacey (aside from her dancing)for her inability to stay still in the clauditorium and the fact they Claudia basically has to grab her and hold her still. 😂

Dd and I think that Joe and Dianne confirming their relationship with full on snog at the end of their final dance before the voting opens could be the Christmas romance we've all been waiting for and will send fandom in crazed repeat voting But obviously Dianne would be too professional to do that!

DVO, Alexandra Burke, and now Ashley I loved AB but don't love Ashley. DVO... I can't possibly write my views. It's complicated

Ah sorry @myrtleWilson , I thought when you wrote judges picks that it was in place of whatever the judges chose, alongside the other 2 dances (if that made any sense...)

I'm looking forward to seeing Stacey's foxtrot again, had forgotten about it and remember really liking it!

And I'm also wondering if Joe and Dianne are going to make it any more obvious in the final that they're together, without breaking any strictly rules...! The red hair might actually go well with the Paso Doble at least

Pashley on ITT now, it’s hard not to feel sorry for her. She never complains to be fair to her. She’s trying to keep smiling.

Just rewatching the dances the judges have picked. Not really much to improve on Ashley's Salsa I thought, they nailed the main lift.

I do feel sorry for Ashley, and I’m glad she’s in the final. I’m looking forward to her show dance, Pash is a great choreographer. These past few years I’ve enjoyed ITT more than the actual show. It took me a while to get used to Zoe after Claude but will miss her if she doesn’t continue next year because of her new R2 show.

Goodness, Harry Judd is an eyeful isn't he!! Never noticed him before until he was just on ITT.

I was wondering whether Zoe would step down. It's a massive time commitment in addition to a breakfast show, from Sept until Christmas. She seems genuinely to love it though - it would be a wrench to leave, I'm sure.

Yes, Harry did look particularly fetching in his black roll neck. He also always comes across as being a genuinely nice, modest and humble bloke. And he's one of the best celeb dancers in SCD history - by rights, you should hate him but he's just lovely

I read when Zoe got the R2 job that she was negotiating a way to be able to continue both. Could have just been scuttlebut, of course, or she could have decided the two were too much to fit in.
