The show is as much about ringers as it is journeys. It wouldn’t work without the mix
Dead right!
Ashley is the best dancer but her dances just leave me cold
I agree with this - there is something missing (to me) and I can't put my finger on it. I didn't like her at the start - I considered here insincere - but as time has gone on I have begun to feel that this may be a cultural thing - American and British responses to the situation may be different. I don't think the producers help by encouraging the competitors to drag their Nans, poorly kittens, cutsie nephews/neices into the mix - it's cloying and irritating. I liked Stacey in the beginning but now find her a PITA, but one thing I loved about her, was that when she tore her rib muscles, and Tess tried to make a big production of it, she effectively said "shut up" about it - deflected the "oooooh, poor you - I bet that really hurts" comments right at the start.
I'd like Faye to win, but I think Joe will. I've nothing against him, but he is rubbish, and it is the judges fault that he has got yo this point because they overmarked and overpraised him from the start.
I wouldn't mind either Ashley or stacey winning, but --when== if Joe carries off that trophy, I will be pissed.
I think this series has been a bit of a car-crash: sordid Snean and his slimey shenanigans; vicious Vick and her vindictive vitriol; unalliterative Danny and his snidey sour-grapes; snotty Susannah and her obvious desire to be out as fast as possible and just grab her fee on the way; Lauren and Joe kept in when Charles (whom I didn't much like, but who could dance) went out; awful show-dances most of the time; rubbish costumes; terrible music (both choices and performance); stupid, unnecessary props; dancing content disappearing for the sake of showiness; Tess becoming even more patronising and wooden - who could have believed it?
It's been a very sad series for me.
