Can I say that I find the fawning over AJ by ladies of a certain age to be incrediably disturbing. He look s incrediably young, and as a woman in my 30's I'd find it a bit wrong to even go there.

I think the show is a bit of fun. The celebrities are not looking for a career break in dance or a contract (unlike X Factor). Voting is clearly based on factors other than dance ability and the remaining celebrities can’t seriously believe they are better dancers than some of the others who have already been voted off.

Faye and Ashley are much better than everyone else but so they should be with their performance backgrounds.

I quite liked Matt Dawson, thought he was very elegant.

Tom Chambers showdance is the best ever on Strictly. Regardless of what you think of him he won it on that alone.

Ashley was upset this week.

As I understand it Ashley was in employment as a Professional dancer before she swapped to singing in a band.

I don't think any contestant should be allowed to take part if they have been in paid employment for that particular skill (dancing). It makes no difference that she had never done Ballroom - any pro dancer has a massively unfair advantage over any amateur.

Milly there are lots of ladies on Facebook who are in their 50's and older and are a bit infatuated with AJ. It's odd, especially when Gio and Gorka are better looking and also look like grown adult men.

Maybe they just want to mother him I suppose? Still creepy though.

Wait, Charles is gone?!

I seriously welled up at his dance last night. I'm not a Karen fan but she was wonderful in it as well. So emosh. And he genuinely felt it, unlike Stacey Dooley who keeps insisting she's 'avin' a larf Innit, and seems to be treating it as one big lark.

I think it's going to be nearly impossible for Lauren to avoid the dance off next week, she'll probably be against Ashley or Faye. There are two dances so it's much less likely that there will be joint equal scores, and Lauren will definitely be bottom of the leaderboard, so she will score 1 from the judges. The only way that she could be safe would be if she got the top public vote, but I'm pretty sure that Joe gets that.

I wouldn't be surprised if Faye was in the DO with Ashley. I think it should be Lauren and Joe in the DO as neither of them are great. Lauren is better at ballroom than Latin though. I just find Joe very mediocre.

My MIL is a massive AJ fan. She met him on tour and said he was just lovely. she says people are voting for him, rather than Lauren. Which is the only way her continued involvement makes sense!

My dream DO next week is Joe v Stacey. No way would head judge Shirl save Joe over KFG

I wish Strictly would do what France does and have one mark for technical merit and one for performance/artistic expression.
The order of elimination is what it is....I preferred Charles to Lauren but looking at the series as a whole many got lucky with someone being worse/less popular when they had their worst dances...Katie's paso, Kate's rumba, Graeme's American not-so-smooth, Ranj's jive, Lauren's cha cha, Stacey's cha cha...they all could have gone in a different order in a parallel universe.
I liked Charles' rumba, I didn't like his tango (no drive).
Joe's salsa was comparatively technically poor but as entertainment worked for me personally. Dianne was not responsible for choreo this or last week and his imposed music choices have been...interesting.
I wasn't a fan of him (and the intro to this won't endear you) but the commentaries each week have been really interesting and made it clear how much training they've done and how hard it has been.
So I don't resent him making the semis at all, even though I might have sent him home weeks ago in a parallel universe.

I think someone worked out Lauren must have come at least third in the public vote to have avoided the DO this week. I'm guessing Joe is getting more votes than her, and possibly Stacey but who knows? We know Ashley is bottom, and I has a suspicion Faye isn't doing much better (but being top of the leaderboard has been carring her). Depending on where everyone else places next week, Lauren could avoid it again.

Hmm. Not keen at all in Adam Lambert. He swoops.

But he was marginally better than the Beeb’s singers...
