Apologies if a duplicate

And we're back

AJ is in his late twenties (I watched Celebrity Hunted recently and it was mentioned) which means that it's even weirder when everyone fluffs about how childlike he is.

I haven't enjoyed any of Joe's dances, as to me he looks wooden and lacking in natural rhythm. He literally just walked about in his Paso Hmm Unfortunately he seems popular with the public. Unless he's in the DO with Ashley I think he's walking straight to the glitter ball.

Oh and I’m another fan of Tom Chambers Showdance. IIRC a lot of it’s imact came from the fact it wasn’t contempowaft bollox.

Although I also seem to recall there was some sort of funny business in the semis where they all danced the AT? And his and Camillas was obviously the worst but then they tied somehow and they just put everyone through? That always felt a bit like a fix to me, but since I liked him I turned a blind eye Grin

everygalaxy · 02/12/2018 22:18

I had forgotten about TC & Camilla’s showdance. Loved it - really didn’t get the ringer thing at the time.

I do vote for Lauren but I think she will go next week. Charles did really well this weekend and his farewell speech was spot on. Kept thinking of the leading with his lad comments Grin
Really can’t call a winner this year and not sure I can get worked up about it for the first time ever.

When the now disgraced Justin Lee Collins fronted It Takes Two Season 1

There was an ongoing joke about the fact that Anton dressed like a middle aged man and an actual segment where two of the younger male dancers took him out to buy him some jeans Grin

Adam Lambert is great.
Looking forward to seeing what two dances they all choose from what's left next week. Looks like a lot of Argentine Tangos still to go as a possibility!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 02/12/2018 22:34

Here you all are! I've been looking all OVER!

FleeBee · 02/12/2018 22:54

I remember Adam Lambert from the American Idol days. He was in the final & lost to a nice but v average boy. Who lets the public vote on anything ? Confused

PawneeParksDept · 02/12/2018 22:55

Adam Lambert won Idol Confused

😱

God I feel like I genuinely remember him winning that's so strange

I like Lauren & think shes brave to tackle something where she's at a disadvantage - and I like AJ, he comes across a a nice guy and a supportive partner. I've been voting for then, but no more as I think their time is up.

However, I think Joe should have gone this week, based on this week's dances. I am sad for Ashley, she was genuinely upset - but she shouldn't be in it at all, she's basically a pro.

I will be voting hard for Gavin and Stacey now, I think Stacey is ace, and I like KFG & would like to see him win one...

I won't be upset if Faye wins, either. The others - noooo....

SuperSuperSuper · 02/12/2018 23:19

I went to see Brendan's tour in the spring, and during the chatty bit he said that last year, he walked into a room and found AJ and Mollie kissing. They leapt apart apparently, and stared "casually" at the ceiling. He did an impression of it which was v funny.

Samcro · 02/12/2018 23:37

we voted for Lauren.
i want Stacey to win. but of Joe does I won't be upset because he isn't a ringer.
I love the show but they need to sort out the judges. the favouritism to ringers is awful. was the same last year.
I don't feel sorry for Ashley. she only had to watch last years show to see how it goes.

Hisnamesblaine · 02/12/2018 23:47

I'm thick? What does salad days mean? Smile

HouseworkIsASin10 · 02/12/2018 23:57

Sad for Charles and Karen, loved their dance.

My worst nightmare would be a Joe/Ashley final.
I just can't watch Joe dance, makes me cringe.
I suppose it will have to be Stacey for me now as most improved from a novice. Don't mind Faye either.

MozzieMagnet · 03/12/2018 00:11

salad days - heyday/when something was great
similar to halcyon days - happy/successful time

I still love Strictly as much as I ever did. i am a huge geek

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 03/12/2018 00:20

ThursdayLastWeek yes the Tom Chambers voring debacle! Something about the leaderboard meant that Tom could never proceed to the next round even if he had the highest public vote. Hence the vote was suspended/phone votes refunded (?) and all of them put through. I can't even recall who was in his final, was it Rachel Stevens and Lisa Snowdon? Haha Snowdance came up on autocorrect!
Rachel Stevens was incredible, I might go and rewatch some of her routines. Lisa Snowdon was annoying although I loved Brendan.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 03/12/2018 00:25

Wow that was the season with John Sergeant furore. The press lost their collective mind Grin
I liked Jodie Kidd/Ian Waite and Cheri Lunghi/James Jordan partnerships. Karen Hardy danced with Gary Rhodes. It all seems so long ago!

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 03/12/2018 00:25

*voting debacle

ilovesooty · 03/12/2018 01:10

Cheri and James... that was a beautiful rumba.

Smallhorse · 03/12/2018 01:25

I love Laurenand AJ
Don’t really get Joe at all. He seems like a lovely person but his dancing is gangly and angular.

Faye was incredible tonight

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 03/12/2018 04:12

I want Ashley & joe in DO. Just to see the judges reaction.

It’s annoying that bbc don’t release votes. I wonder if it’s because there’s only a short opportunity to vote so the voting figures aren’t as high as X factor & so they can’t pretend that results show is filmed on a Sunday. Not explaining very well but hopefully you get what I mean!

Ladymargarethall · 03/12/2018 04:56

I like Lauren. Maybe she gets the Nan vote. (I am old enough to be a Nan but no one calls me that in real life).
The quote is 'In my salad days when I was green in judgement' implying regret at youthful folly.

Enigmam · 03/12/2018 06:48

Just out of interest, why are we not allowed to know the exact figures when it comes to voting?

MozzieMagnet · 03/12/2018 06:56

I really don't know - series 1-9 you at least got told who was 2nd and 3rd.
Series 10 onwards they began announcing the winner only.
You would think with the license fee still being paid and it being a phone vote that there would be more transparency.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 03/12/2018 06:58

Couldn’t agree more Mozzie
