Although I can't think about January yet...

I'm still in denial it's nearly December- which means ds will be 16 , and I will be 47 and another year will be over.

Love the koala pics Grin

kazzaD66 · 27/12/2018 12:59

Those poor koalas are probably thinking (in an Aussie accent, obvs) jeez, not another bloody photo with a tennis player! Grin
They are cute though (the koalas, not the tennis players!)
Hope everyone had a good Christmas Xmas Smile

Raahh · 27/12/2018 21:26

kazza of the players, Naomi is the cutest Grin.

I'm excited about the Tennis starting again. I had a good day- took the girls to see the Crimes of Grindelwald, the new Fantastic beasts film. Soon to be 16 year old ds Grin was too cool to come. I loved it. Don't go to the cinema often, so it was a nice trip out, even though the Trafford Centre was packed ( not as much as yesterday, when we should have gone, when dh took ds shopping alone insteadGrin).

Just seen a list of Rafa's provisional schedule for next year. Queens isn't on there, but I'm not surprised.

Amuses me that it lists the Laver Cup as an exhibition tournament, despite Federer's pains to claim it isn't.

Ha - Rafa is trolling Federer Xmas Grin

That's a good sign though isn't it, that the year's planned out for Rafa - even if only provisionally.

Btw if anyone has Eurosport, they are showing the Hopman Cup from tomorrow - well, the GB ties anyway.

PrivateEggnog · 28/12/2018 07:56

PS Raahh my DS has been wanting to see Fantastic Beasts for ages but I've said no up to now as it's a 12 rating! Might relent over the holidays...

Raahh · 28/12/2018 08:07

private terrible parent that I am, dd2 has seen both ( and she was only 8 in September). There are a couple of mildly scary bits, but it's not that bad. ( She was more scared by the Minion movie, bizarrely!). It does depend on the child though, I think.

I loved it, and have been wildly over thinking it ever since. Grin Jude Law looks great with a beard.

I couldn't sleep, and have been reading an article someone has written on the environmental impact of all the air travel that tennis player do- especially when you factor in their entourages, and taking all their family/friends/dogsGrin.

I must be a bit bored. Grin

I need more pictures of players with Aussie animals. Grin

Such as this?! I couldn't find another one of Rafa

That's good to know about Fantastic Beasts Raahh - will probably take him then as he's pretty much the same age as your DD2! It's funny the things they find scary. We watched Indiana Jones a few weeks ago and the only thing DS was bothered about was when the monkey died after eating the poisoned date!! Grin

I saw that article about the tennis air miles as well. It is a bit mad when you stop and think about it. Tennis could be so much better organised in so many ways!

The Indiana Jones thing is funny- we watched Gemlins the other day ( They've all seen it many times before) and it reminded me of the kerfuffke over the age rating at the time. I was 13 the Christmas it came out, IJ came the same time and was a a PG. real people die in that, yet there was a whole load of fuss over a dark fairy story where a plastic puppet died in blender Grin

( we saw Gremlins originally at my uncle's house on pirate video. Shhhh!)

private Roger looks a bit rough there, even worse than when he was out and about with Bear Grylls Confused The animal is defined cuter Grin

kazza Grin

I'm glad you said it..

Rafa has lost to Kevin in Abu Dhabi, but at least he has had some match practice, which is a positive.

Hopefully Kev can retain his title this year- unless Khachanov beats Djok again later, then I don't mind who wins Grin.

Well, it's not a koala, but I'm sure John's nephew didn't mindWink.

Kei Nishikori shares a birthday today with my ds. He's 29. That's Kei, not ds. Ds is 16 and far too cool to spend the day with us.

Or probably koalas.

That's a gorgeous photo. It makes me happy just looking at it Grin

PrivateEggnog · 29/12/2018 11:04

Tbh after I posted it, I wasn't sure I should have done Confused even though Milkman already posted it on twitter! Anyway.

Watched some of the GB v Greece mixed doubles earlier - weird scoring system in the tiebreak: first team to 5 points would win, so at 4-all it was match point to both teams! Just seemed wrong.

PrivateEggnog · 29/12/2018 11:07

I really want Andy to have a good season. I feel like he's really been through the mill and I hope he can get back - even if not to winning titles, but at least stringing a few wins together. Fingers crossed for him.

JaneJeffer · 29/12/2018 14:13

When you're in the middle of cooking dinner but fancy a game of tennis...

Jane Grin I know, it's just like the good old days! There was tennis on when I got up this morning and it's still on now! Yippee!!

PrivateEggnog · 29/12/2018 14:24

I quite like Vee's outfit in that picture.

In the GB-Greece match, Boulter and Sabalenka wore the exact same dress/visor - even though they don't look at all alike, it was still a bit confusing.

JaneJeffer · 29/12/2018 15:14

I haven't watched any. We have Eurosport in the kitchen but it's a bomb site and I'm too tired to tidy up today.

PrivateEggnog · 29/12/2018 15:41

Ours is as well - there's just bits and pieces of random shite stuff hanging around everywhere.

Btw I was reading somewhere that the period between Christmas and New Year has now been re-named as The Twiglet Zone Xmas Grin
