Although I can't think about January yet...

I'm still in denial it's nearly December- which means ds will be 16 , and I will be 47 and another year will be over.

I think it’s 2am -Kazza - Thiem now serving for the match.

JaneJeffer · 15/01/2019 15:02

The Melbourne clock seems to be a minute slow!

Raahh · 15/01/2019 15:03

Thiem clearly just took a breather in the 4th set.

I sort of wanted Paire to win, although I do like Dom.

Lucky Paire

JaneJeffer · 15/01/2019 15:08

Great shot

Raahh · 15/01/2019 15:08

I'm having to score watch on the school run.

it's very tense.

I think Thiem was lucky to get away with his 4th set walkabout.

But Paire is so unpredictable. Must be a nightmare to play Grin

Dom had a good workout there. Good applause for Benoit.

magimedi · 15/01/2019 15:11

Half my age + 7 I reckon I'd be getting John Lloyd. Grin

Stan just looks so porcine.

JaneJeffer · 15/01/2019 15:12

He is from a Swiss farm isn't he!

Raahh · 15/01/2019 15:14

Yay well done Thiem - I quite like how Stan doesn’t look like a typical athlete - his outfit choices can be a bit questionable though. He needs the discipline if the Wimbledon dress code but still manages to look scruffy even in all white!

JaneJeffer · 15/01/2019 15:16

Dom is lovely. Was that his girlfriend they kept showing? She is very pre-Raphaelite looking.

JaneJeffer · 15/01/2019 15:19

I love Stan's scruffiness. He is the antithesis to Roger.

Fizzywinegum · 15/01/2019 15:21

Yes Jane I bet Stan brings roger out in hives Grin

kazzaD66 · 15/01/2019 15:28

Fizzy Grin
Magi Legs Lloyd was a bit of a stud muffin in his day Grin

PrivateParkin · 15/01/2019 16:45

Grin blimey, I turn my back for 5 mins and next thing I know, John Lloyd is being described as a stud muffin Grin

kazzaD66 · 15/01/2019 16:52

Described in the past tense private although he is still preferable to look at and listen to than a (supposed) co-commentator and former British No1 Angry of his, who shall remain nameless Grin
Actually, JL walked past us at Wimbledon last year and I've seen a lot worse for his age Wink

magimedi · 15/01/2019 17:12

Don't fancy him at all, Kazza. Far too old for a young thing like moi Grin

Of the 'oldies' Borg is my favourite. Didn't have the 'phwoar' factor for me when he was young but he hasn't half improved with age.

JaneJeffer · 15/01/2019 17:17

I discovered whilst Christmas shopping that Borg is now an underwear designer! Bloody expensive underwear too.

PrivateParkin · 15/01/2019 17:19

Grin what about 1976 French Open champ Adriano Panatta?

Raahh · 15/01/2019 17:20

magi Borg certainly got better with age.

McEnroe- not so much (but he was never a looker, imo)Grin

Goran , obviously has aged very well indeed- another reason to like Milos, as I think he is still coaching him (so always the chance of a glimpse).

John Lloyd annoyed me intensely last year during Queen's. He kept calling Kyrgios, 'box office', to the point I would have tweeted how cross I was. If I was able to tweet. Grin

Private he's lovely and brooding, isn't he? Grin

Another one I always liked was Guga Kuerten, mainly for his hair. I have curly hair, but it never looked as good as his. Grin.

There are a number of former players who are almost exactly my age. 1971-73 must have been a boom time for future stars of tennis, male and female.

I don't think I ever found Sampras attractive though. Though I bumped into him in a hotel reception in Amsterdam, when I was 16.

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 15/01/2019 17:24

Yes he loves Kyrgios.

Mac was my first tennis love. I think it was the short shorts Grin

JaneJeffer · 15/01/2019 17:25

No way to Sampras!
