Chloe's sexual interest in the horse faced one seems to have come from nowhere.

I had toaugh when she said Mark had had plenty of practice in buying rings Grin

BreconBeBuggered · 12/12/2018 20:26

Somebody had to say it, Smidge. Makes a change for it to be in the script.
I think I still like Neighbours, yes. Though it is a bit of a compulsion.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 12/12/2018 20:38

You’re right, @Smidge001 - I think the work experience kid has been let loose on the scripts - that is the only explanation for Chloe suddenly fancying the pants off Ellie. Not to mention the pantomime villain Alice, and Sonya snarfing down spiked shortbread without noticing any bitter aftertaste, and how no-one else ended up eating any of the codeine biscuits when Alice was throwing her Special Sugar around with gay abandon!

MorningsEleven · 12/12/2018 20:39

Do I like Neighbours? It's my life!

There's been something else in the script recently that reminded me of Steph having to get "my boy" into every sentence. Can't remember what though. Useful

Seahawk80 · 12/12/2018 21:23

Hi everyone, I kind of joined the last thread and then DH went away for work for 3 weeks and we got so behind we've only just caught up & then I had to catch up with the thread!

@MorningsEleven that made me laugh about Sonia's taste buds!

Agree with all the comments about the non existent summer! Also has anyone else noticed that despite karl losing his job because he had been "replaced" at the hospital and being relegated to some sort of junior admin role he seems to be back to single handedly running the place with no explanation?!

Lovewineandchocs · 12/12/2018 21:44

seahawk Karl got his job back, well, kind of. A GP position came up and Clive recommended Karl for it.

Lovewineandchocs · 12/12/2018 21:46

smidge I think Chloe has always fancied Elly. She propositioned her the first day they met, now they have an emotional closeness too and Chloe’s in lurve Grin

MiddleClassProblem · 12/12/2018 21:53

Neighbours is like comfort tv. It’s an old friend that might be annoying sometimes but is still nice to have around.

TheWashingFairyatemyhamster · 12/12/2018 22:20

I couldn’t work out why Jane and Dipi appeared to be going to the engagement party. Surely Jane wasn’t invited?

Starburst8 · 12/12/2018 22:34

@Smidge001 best quote of Neighbours tonight was Chloe's comment about the ring.
I thought it odd that Jane was at the engagement especially since she sacked Elly.

Seahawk80 · 12/12/2018 23:02

@Lovewineandchocs thanks! I must have shut my eyes as soon as Clive came on screen in case it was a romance with Sheila scene! Karl has certainly rocketed back to the top, leaping off a plane to treat Finn (assume there's no change in his condition- or he's made a miraculous recovery given that Sonia had the neighbours hospital bed yesterday!)

TheWashingFairyatemyhamster · 12/12/2018 23:09

Chloe is such a cheeky mare. She’s never bothered her arse to come to any of Mark’s other engagement parties. She finally turns up to one and then decided she quite fancies the fiancée herself and references Mark’s serial engagement mongering. Such genius! It’s like they made Amy and Mark all beige and used all their colourful bits to make Chloe.

By the way, I know that it wasn’t Mark who proposed this time, but has he managed to get engaged 3 times in 12 months? When was he engaged to Paige and Steph? Or did he not actually get engaged to Paige? I’m confused!!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 12/12/2018 23:11

I have to say that I was stunned by the speed with which the tradies of Erinsborough managed to completely renovate both the hospital and the school. Utterly realistic, I am sure. Hmm

SleepingStandingUp · 13/12/2018 00:11

Chloe I get. She made some comments when she first arrived and snogged some girl in a bar that was maybe Mishti's friend. I can see her being a bit laid back sexually.

But the idea that Elly cheats with her is ludicrous. Her sexual awakening has certainly come from no where, she had NO feelings for her before what wasn't even a tongue tickling life changing kiss! Then suddenly Chloe is slowly tying a ribbon on her dress and they both imagining her unzipping it.
Don't buy it.

washing he proposed to Paige but after she told him she cheated with Jack, and he threw the ring in the lake, there was no mention of being engaged even though Mark decided to forgive Paige and give it another go. He got engaged to Steph in December 2018, so I guess he’s bought 3 engagement rings in less than 2 years! Before that, he was engaged to Kate and Paige in the space of about 18 months, then got engaged to Steph about 9 months after his failed wedding to Paige. Any normal friends/family in a normal street would be suggesting therapy by now! And I have doubts about his wedding to Elly even going ahead, this Chloe thing looks like a long term story arc to me. I despair! Grin 🤣

Lovewineandchocs · 13/12/2018 00:32

*December 2016 for Steph obviously, sorry!

tobee · 13/12/2018 02:47

I still love Neighbours despite half (at least) of the characters annoying me. But I know what you mean about hyped storylines often being a let down.

God Toadie reminds me of my bil. Absolutely nothing like him physically. Just the personality. Fortunately, my sister, his wife is not a recovering addict. And also not dying from glove poisoning somewhere in the Bush.

Not only is Karl back to running the hospital single handed, with help from Boo boo, he's also able to fly round the world at a moment's notice. He's only just came back from seeing Jemima. Is Alan Fletcher doing one of his uk uni tours again?

Smidge001 · 13/12/2018 06:13

He's probably in a panto!

BessMarvin · 13/12/2018 07:28

Hi, haven't posted before but been reading for a while.

Can't work out what Alice's plan is. No more Sonia, so that Toadie and Andrea get together, with Hugo and Nell, but then what? She reappears and says surprise I'm actually Andrea's mother, I lied for ages? Or carry on being Nanny Alice while Andrea pretends and Hugo never knows she's his grandmother?

MiddleClassProblem · 13/12/2018 08:40

How reheading really happens...

Neighbours - Dee isn't Dee, Paul is evil, Finn is hanging on and Bea needs to find the well
MiddleClassProblem · 13/12/2018 08:48

Two valid points made before my post.

Karl: Just how much leave does he get?

Alice: probably can be explained away by her being a psycho but in actuality it’s that the writers didn’t think about that bit (nor did I tbh)

SleepingStandingUp · 13/12/2018 08:56

I was think it yesterday.
Willow thinks she's dead and Toadie thinks she's the Nanny.

I reckon Dee has convinced her "it'll all work out" and she's just trusted hell understand once they're all together. It's like Alice telling Sonia, I think she expected Sonia to "get it" and understand and so it's OK, she didn't really do a bad thing. She never set out ot kill her, but it isn't really her fault she did, Sonia just wouldn't comply but she understands now and it's all OK

OP posts:
TheWashingFairyatemyhamster · 13/12/2018 20:14

All the Rebecchi kids (including Willow) are so compliant! I suspect Alice has been giving them all her special biscuits. ‘Nell go to your room for 6 months’ ‘Ok’. ‘Willow lie down in this potting shed and don’t fight back even though you’re a foot taller and 40 years younger than me!’ ‘ok’. Hugo will be robbing banks and whipping up a full Sunday dinner on command before he’s out of nappies whilst also popping off to his room for 8 hour naps during which he sorts out the VAT receipts for all the family businesses.

And mine won’t even put their shoes on the first time I ask! Blush

MiddleClassProblem · 13/12/2018 22:29

Why did Toadie think it was a good idea for Alice to stay at the nursery? He knows she’s not very savvy. She apologises everyday for something and she’s paid to look after Hugo!

TheWashingFairyatemyhamster · 13/12/2018 22:50

Alice may not be savvy but she’s a lot savvier than Toady. Actually Clancy the dog is savvier than Toady.
