Yay!!! Have you started watching?

I am practically a saint as I am waiting 24 hrs (less now) to watch. My DS27 is taking a day off tomorrow and coming down early to watch 😬 I managed to convert him to TLK last year so it will be fun.

I wasn't planning on bingeing but will do with him- no doubt I'll watch the whole season a few times anyway.

Are you on the TLK FB group, Bore? Great international bunch of Arselings.

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/11/2018 19:47

Not started watching yet Bagel . Might have to put it off until the weekend as likely to binge on the whole lot in one hit, which can interfere with work!

I don't do Facebook because I'm afeared it will steal my soul.

Don't suppose they'll be able to resurrect Leofric Sad. He was my absolute favourite.

I love The Last Kingdom! I don't know if I can start it tonight though as I'm in the middle of a different TV show.

BagelGoesWalking · 19/11/2018 23:40

Bore, you're the 2nd person today that morally objects to FB. I'm afeared I'm so addicted I can't give up - I do love my groups - not bothered about posting much myself.

Sakura I'm in the middle of Ray Donovan but Liev Schreiber will have to beat up some people on his own for a few days 😂

Got first two series on dvd for my birthday and rewatching them now, so really looking forward to getting series three dvd in January. Also loving the extra features.
Destiny is all!

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/11/2018 01:03

I weakened and watched the first two episodes Grin

It's goooood!!!

Uhtred is all growed up. And there are some surprises.

Hurry up and watch so we can all discuss it.

Oh, and it's got the very gorgeous Ola Rapace (with... interesting hair)

RiverTam · 20/11/2018 11:42

very excited about this - since watching the first 2 seasons I have now read the entire series which was incredibly enjoyable.

Does anyone know if the first two series are available anywhere?

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/11/2018 11:56

Yes, they are on Netflix, as well as the new S3! You can watch them all for free (first month is free)

I also read all the books - hope they will do them all Smile

Ooh, have just discovered the latest book in the series - The War of the Wolf is out too!

AlbusPercival · 20/11/2018 12:05

Oh Netflix not the bbc now?

froufroufoxes · 20/11/2018 12:10

YES!

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/11/2018 12:13

Yes, BBC made a huge mistake. The series has gone to Netflix now. All the episodes of the new series are available, so waiting for more people to watch so we can discuss.

RiverTam · 20/11/2018 12:14

yep - waiting to borrow it from the library.

I have to say, I thought it was going to Amazon, not Netflix - I mean, I have them both but I was surprised to see it on Netflix.

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/11/2018 12:16

I hadn't bothered to get Netflix before, but I have now!

froufroufoxes · 20/11/2018 12:33

Seriously considering bunking off work so I can start watching it now (I work from home).

RedRoseReb · 20/11/2018 12:35

Thanks op.

RedRoseReb · 20/11/2018 12:38

If you like Bernard Cornwell I think his Arthur trilogy is a really good read.

RiverTam · 20/11/2018 12:39

oh, I didn't enjoy that anywhere like as much, not sure why.

RedRoseReb · 20/11/2018 12:42

My dh says The Fort is his favourite, set in US revolutionary war. I'm just not interested enough in the era to try!

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/11/2018 12:42

Mary Stewart's Arthurian books, starting with The Crystal Cave, spoiled me for any others really. Although I did enjoy Cornwell's.

OP posts:
RedRoseReb · 20/11/2018 12:42

The Arthur books are less typical historical novel and more woo!

RedRoseReb · 20/11/2018 12:44

I have Rosemary Sutcliffe's take on Arthur waiting on my Kindle. But I'll get around to Mary Stewart one day!

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/11/2018 12:44

Do try The Crystal Cave, Red - lots of woo but somehow believable!

OP posts:
RiverTam · 20/11/2018 12:55

I read The Mists of Avalon many years ago, that is woo-tastic but no other Arthurian saga compares to it in my mind!
