Has everyone finished watching? Was blown away by Ep10 yesterday ⚔️😮⚔️

BoreOfWhabylon · 25/11/2018 18:41

Yes, I finished yesterday!

I'm going to start again at series 1 and work my way through them all.

On episode 5 - we need a spoiler thread!

SleepySofa · 25/11/2018 20:42

Bore you’re very right about the Crystal Cave series being the best Arthurian legend. I might need to reread it now you’ve reminded me of it.

BagelGoesWalking · 25/11/2018 21:19

Bore. I don't think I've ever liked a show so much that I've gone straight back to the beginning.

Does anyone know a good book about the period - King Alfred more than his descendants - historical rather than fiction?

Pasithea · 25/11/2018 21:25

Finished it by 8 pm Monday as soon as it came out. Just couldn’t stop.

IStandWithPosie · 25/11/2018 21:33

Ooh hello fellow fans!! Did you make a spoiler thread or are we discussing here? I binge watched it all on Wednesday (surprise day off work so I made the sofa my home for the day).

ElenadeClermont · 25/11/2018 22:33

I am just marking my place. Very excited.

Deathraystare · 27/11/2018 18:20

Yet again something I cannot see as do not have netflix - oh well there is always waiting for the DVD!

IStandWithPosie · 27/11/2018 18:24

deathraystare you can get one month free trial on Netflix if the cost is offputting. Just remember to cancel it before the month is up.

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/11/2018 19:52

Deathraystare I signed up with Netflix specifically to watch this. As IStandWithPosie says, the first month is free. It costs £5.99 per month and there's no contract, you can cancel any time.

Can someone help me with the timeline? Series one ends with Uhtred, Halig and Hild heading north, Aethelflaed is young girl, maybe 8/9 years old. Then series two begins with Aethelflaed appearing to be around 15/16 years old and Aelswith saying she is the age to be betrothed. But there is no way Uhtred has spent 7/8 years drinking and Ragnar and Brida kept prisoner in Winchester all that time. Have they been a bit naughty with the age of Aethelflaed for story purposes and just hoped we don’t notice?

BagelGoesWalking · 27/11/2018 23:52

I can't remember if they jump ahead in the books but, yes, it jumps ahead a few years.

BagelGoesWalking · 28/11/2018 00:03

If you fancy, register on IMDb and rate all the seasons/eps. There are also polls for best actor/actress etc.

There's also an FB page for Netflix. Again, if you can, please comment as all support is welcome - to make sure S4 will be made. https://www.facebook.com/317789505064849/posts/1084516165058842/

This happened yesterday, some US TLK fans were there and met him after.

Do you want your own Arseling For Life T-shirt - here! Shipping to the uk is a bit steep unfortunately...

Nice pic with Bernard Cornwell.

IStandWithPosie · 28/11/2018 01:20

Oh thanks bagel! I am rewatching from the start. Now on series two. So many handsome men, Sihtric, Finan, Uhtred, Erik.

BagelGoesWalking · 28/11/2018 16:05

Agree with the handsome men! Uhtred looks so fierce in S3 with his new hair and costume. Do you follow any on Instagram? Mark Rowley (Finan) and Arnas Federman (Sitric) post funny behind the scenes pics.

Oh, and check out Domestic Uhtred on IG. His wife posted a hilarious video. Really worth a look.

IStandWithPosie · 28/11/2018 16:14

Oh I don’t but I will now. Thank you.

SleepySofa · 28/11/2018 19:57

Just watching episode 8 - quite surprised at Uhtred’s swim in the lake!

BagelGoesWalking · 28/11/2018 20:26

Yes Sleepy it certainly was 😉

Eliza Butterworth is good on IG too, IStand she's so stunning in real life, so different from her Ælswith look.

froufroufoxes · 29/11/2018 14:12

Domestic authored is hilarious!

froufroufoxes · 29/11/2018 14:12

Domestic Uhtred bloody autocorrect

TinselAngel · 30/11/2018 23:10

I'm half way through. I adore how Uhtred's gang are like Sharpe's Rifles.

TinselAngel · 30/11/2018 23:25

There's even a Sgt Harper equivalent. 😍

TheLastNigel · 01/12/2018 23:47

Watched the lot over three nights. Cracking stuff.

VictoryOrValhalla · 02/12/2018 01:11

I’m watching Vikings now and it’s interesting to see some of the same characters just a few years earlier. (Ubba, Alfred) TLK is far superior though. Vikings feels like being clumped round the head with a big, Hollywood Thor’s hammer in comparison to TLK.
