Shiny new thread - my apologies to Satsuma for the title, you are the minority!

Anyone else impressed by Luba and the guy (sorry can't remember his name) both wonderful dancers doing\teaching the rumba on IT2 yesterday?

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 21/11/2018 09:19

Grin Schaden

Theknacktoflying · 21/11/2018 09:21

The ‘demo’ male dancer is Johannes ... he dances really well.

kazzaD66 · 21/11/2018 09:28

If Graeme is overstepping the mark - and I haven't noticed anything untoward - I think Oti is more than capable of standing up for herself. She can be quite scary - note the way she was relentlessly wacking Graeme in the face with a cushion at the end of their ITT interview last night.

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2018 09:34

Yes thanks TheKnack It was fab to have a 'proper' dance, the whole of it, no OTT lighting and stupid props!!!

I wonder if the producers read this thread Grin

GrumbleBumble · 21/11/2018 09:39

I saw the 50's incarnation of Rip It Up with Jay, Lewis and Natalie Lowe last year it was fab. Thinking of getting mother tickets to the 60 version for Christmas (fingers crossed she'll ask me to go with her not a friend.) Young Harry may need to put an injunction in place Wink

Theromanempire · 21/11/2018 10:19

I unashamedly would love to go to see Rip It Up but (1) £85 ShockShock and (2) it is only in London! Travel up North boys Wink

GrumbleBumble · 21/11/2018 10:33

Theromanempire it has already toured prior to the west end run. I will be buying the £30 restricted view seats - I frequently but restricted view tickets and have never no been able to see even if it has meant shifting slightly when a certain part of the stage is in use.

SheStoodInTheStorm · 21/11/2018 10:34

I saw the 60s one when it was touring. Tickets were £25-30 and I saw it in the Midlands! So it should tour after London I think?

GrumbleBumble · 21/11/2018 10:41

There are also £45 and £65 tickets so the £85 are the "best" seats.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 21/11/2018 11:08

I do tend to buy the best seats, I like to be able to keep my neck in a neutral position as it tends to get quite sore otherwise. I don't go to shows very often so it doesn't matter if I splurge when I do go.

Before I lived in London I always thought that the variety of things happening there was so fabulous that if I every lived there I'd be seeing something at least once a month like opera or comedy. But I did live there for 20 years and I maybe went to something once a year, mostly it was go to work, go home and slump in front of the telly, sleep, go to work etc. Now that I'm back in Dublin and on the odd occasion that something comes to town that I want to see I just book it straight away. I'm going to see Ian Waite and Vincent Simone next June with my Mum, I booked it pretty much as soon as the tickets were available.

ppeatfruit · 21/11/2018 13:15

It's strange isn't it BlackAmerican ? We live 4 doors away from an 11thC castle tower and chapel, we've walked round there about 5 times in 12 years!!! Oh and once to see the archeological work being done there Blush Iam ashamed Blush

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 21/11/2018 13:28

I think it's the feeling that you can do it anytime, that you don't have to seize the opportunity or miss the chance forever. There's always so much going on in London.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/11/2018 13:40

I think Oti is more than capable of standing up for herself.

I agree that if he tried anything untoward during the rehearsals she'd likely rip his bollox off and ram them up his backside, but if he is touchy-feely in public - and just keeps his hands of the top shelf, so to speak, she might not want to make a public spectacle of him - though I think she would be able to "jokingly" break a few of his fingers.

AmericanPastoral · 21/11/2018 14:13

Thanks for the excellent review finally.
Rip it Up looks interesting - wasn't Natalie in it last year?? I was thinking it might be suitable my dds who are mad Strictly fans but it seems a bit adult? I'm feeling very old but why do they have to be so scantily clad??

Allergictoironing · 21/11/2018 14:24

I tend to be a little wary of Graeme Swann's image, as he was allegedly part of the clique in the England cricket team dressing room that bullied other players and pushed Kevin Pietersen out.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 21/11/2018 14:44

I was saying on my FB group that Graeme reminds me of the mean, cool girls at school, they’d say “we all need to get along and do our share” to your face when they wanted something and then bitch about everyone behind their backs.

He was talking on ITT about it being like a team and you just make sure that you get along with everyone, but then he keeps feeding bitchy gossip to the press about the others. I would be polite but cautious around that type of person.

kazzaD66 · 21/11/2018 14:45

True Schaden but he might be doing something subconsciously out of nervousness whilst waiting for the red light of doom to fall on him. Aljaz is always very tactile and constantly seems to caress his partner but maybe he gets away with it cos he's cheeky, handsome Aljaz Hmm
Allergic And KP can certainly take care of himself, he's no angel!

Parabolica · 21/11/2018 16:28

To slightly readdress the balance I met Graeme Swann a few years back at a book signing and he was such a nice guy. Really chatty and friendly and he made time for absolutely everyone. By all accounts Kevin Pietersen was a very very difficult person in the dressing room - brilliant cricketer but an ego the size of Mars. There was a reason the Aussies, South Africans etc nicknamed him FIGJAM... I have wondered though the last couple of weeks if Graeme is enjoying it anymore - being a competitive sportsman he must find it hard bumping along the bottom of the leaderboard despite putting in all the hours etc.

Theromanempire · 21/11/2018 16:37

FIGJAM??

KP did it all himself .... even his dad was kicked out of his local Squash club for unsportsmanship ...

xsquared · 21/11/2018 16:42

ppeatfruit Luba is brilliant and dances beautifully with Johannes.

Monkseal thinks she outdances thebithwr pros and is worth two of them!

xsquared · 21/11/2018 16:43

"the other" not the gobbledegook!

Samcro · 21/11/2018 17:03

i like these threads. but am sad that now they seem to be full of unfounded accusations about the male celebs. first it was sean, then Danny and now Graeme. the first 2 might not have behaved brilliantly.
but the thing about Graeme is just what one person thought. they have no proof. yet everyone joins in.

i wish we could go back to just dissing the ringers and the singers.
