Hoping this gets posted in time - and that there is still plenty to say on the matter!

A few pages late, but my Yak Fact is that Alexa doesn’t know what they sound like. She thinks perhaps you’d like to hear a kitten instead?

bookbook · 02/11/2018 23:11

mm, I would have thought it would more likely bleat Sparkwood

here you go Schaden - a bit of a cheese fest ( which is not a problem here ...) and I am assuming you are au fait with pancake making Grin

Pancake Cannelloni with Spinach and Four Cheeses - Delia Smith
let me know if its a problem to read :)

I think we probably would SParkwood

I suspect hat yak's don't sound quite as sweet as kittens do. I have no actual reason for thinking this - it's just a feeling.

I thought a yak might bellow book. Or honk.

(Thank you for the recipe)

I've had yak butter tea in Nepal. It was disgusting.

SparkwoodAnd21 · 03/11/2018 15:46

I imagine a bellow too. Although a tiny squeak might be interesting.

FuzzyCustard · 03/11/2018 15:58

I am just watching a repeat of a previous GBBO (the one that Nadiya wins) on Really. Paul ahs just made his magnificent Lion Bread Sculpture (remember that?) and it didn't even get a Hollywood handshake! Oh that lot were talented- there were several people that year who could easily have won, and none of them "quirky".

FuzzyCustard · 03/11/2018 15:59

(Oh, Paul that made the Lion Bread was obvs not Paul the Judge. He said he'd never even attempt such a thing. Sorry if I was being confusing)

DarlingNikita · 03/11/2018 15:59

Put 'Yak Noise' into Google to be enlightened.

WereWolfcub · 03/11/2018 16:08

That Lion bread was one of my favourites Fuzzy and he didn’t even get star baker

FuzzyCustard · 03/11/2018 16:30

I think when Gremlins gets on GBBO he should have to bake things reflecting our names...a Wolfcub bread, a Fuzzy baked Custard..and VanillaSugary should be easy!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/11/2018 16:31

It just shows how far down the slippery slope of trash TV the Cake Off has come, doesn't it?

Oooh Fuzzy - once again your little grey cells are at work!

I'm now so excited to see next year's series that I can hardly wait. Only a few days ago I was swearing never to watch it again.

Gremlins - you are carrying on your shoulders the heaviest weight that any contestant ever bore - the hopes and dreams of 000's of MNers, all rooting for you and wanting to see you wrestle Paul to the ground, 2 falls or a submission and have him crying and even weeing himself with fright. Don't let us down.

There were other possible entrants, too - who were you (save me going back to the previous thread and wiping off all the buttercream. Fuzzy just doesn't know where to stop when it comes to decorative icing.)

FuzzyCustard · 03/11/2018 17:03

Lord only knows what a Baked Schady looks like. (Possibly better than a half-baked Schady?)

I would give my eye teeth to see Paul go pale with fright. That would be a novelty. gremlins....over to you.

SneakyGremlins · 03/11/2018 17:07

No bloody pressure! Grin

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/11/2018 17:36

(Possibly better than a half-baked Schady?)

I wouldn't put money on that Fuzzy Grin

I'm watching a repeat of series 6 while I wait for Strictly - I had truly forgotten how much BETTER everything was . . . they are making pittas, but they have proper ovens - none of this baking on hot rocks under the merciless heat of the burning sun nonsense!

The cakes they made before the pittas looked so scrumptious! I'd love to know how our last series' contestants would have fared with these challenges (and vice versa - what would Nadiya's biscuit chandelier have been like?) And while there were time constrains they weren't nearly so ridiculous.

However Paul is still standing there with hands in front pockets - "All that I survey is mine" sort of look on his mug and a furious, proprietorial air - a bit like Simon Legree having a bad beard day.

When you get there you will be fully prepared for Mongol Horde week Gremlins - you'll thank us.

You could mention the burning need for a Fish Week. God knows they must be running out of bad, stupid ideas by now and ours are GOOD stupid ideas.

OP posts:
FuzzyCustard · 03/11/2018 17:40

These are MUCH BETTER challenges. (Channel 4 are you reading this?). Ice cream and swiss roll...what better? and those cheesecakes made me really hungry.

Gremlins, no pressure at all. Just a few of us here rooting for you. (The MN Massive at least those that count- are all right behind you pushing you into the limelight as we don't have the bottle to do it

Go Gremlins, Go Gremlins

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/11/2018 18:34

Would you like us to come and cheer you on in the tent Gremlins?

We could wear little tight shorts and stuff like that. Paul wouldn't try that Alpha Male crap with us around We could oversee the fairness of the judging as well as supporting you unreservedly.
