Hoping this gets posted in time - and that there is still plenty to say on the matter!

Is it Paul Hollywood or Greggg Wallace who has a soggy bottom?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 06/11/2018 14:38

I hope I never find out Vanilla

Prof MC tonight? Oh my.

I still feel bad about flagging off AoF as he then died. Sad

Taffeta · 06/11/2018 17:57

Slagging off

No idea what flagging off is. Sounds rood

Taffeta · 06/11/2018 18:04

I wonder if Shitwell will be binned as a good critic?

I do hope so, smug twat.

Taffeta · 06/11/2018 18:05

Food

What is wrong with my typing tonight???!!

VanillaSugary · 06/11/2018 18:19

Did anyone see GBBO extra slice last Friday? Is it worth watching on catch up?

bookbook · 06/11/2018 18:30

nope haven't watched as I found it rather tedious tbh.
I was on the hunt for my Mrs Beeton - I hate to not know where my books are. Found it , and flicked
If we went back to good British baking , how about this beauty . Whon needs biscuit chandeliers, and a landscape dessert?

I give you Apple Meringue Pie , decorated with stoned raisins :)

FuzzyCustard · 06/11/2018 18:42

Stoned raisins? Groovy, man.

VanillaSugary · 06/11/2018 19:49

Nice plates!

VanillaSugary · 06/11/2018 19:55

This is absolutely the best chocolate cake ever. It's a Twelfth Night Cake and I think we should bring back the feasting with Lady Lovewell and Fanny Fidget.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 06/11/2018 20:17

OR, that's a lovely cake Vanilla.

I might cheat on my Garibaldis with it, and use up the raisins for it.

This is my favourite

goodfood.uktv.co.uk/recipe/hazelnut-and-chocolate-cake/

It's a Tamasin Day-Lewis recipe but Nigel Slater has it in his books too.

It's like a giant chocolatey hazelnutty digestive biscuit, except it's cake.
Great stuff, very plain looking though, so no points for being a showstopper.

bookbook · 06/11/2018 20:33

oooh, both look good ! I adore hazelnuts and chocolate, so that has the edge for me :)

VanillaSugary · 06/11/2018 20:59

Normally I love Tamasin Day Lewis (I have her book!) but I think it would be easier to smash up a digestive biscuit into some Nutella.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 06/11/2018 21:15

Think of the orang-utans Vanilla.

VanillaSugary · 06/11/2018 21:23

The Tamasin biscuit cake.
In the shape of an orang utan.
Up a palm tree

This is the showstopper to end all showstoppers. @ChardonnaysPrettySister you are a genius!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 06/11/2018 21:30

I've always suspected it, Vanilla.

Blush
FuzzyCustard · 07/11/2018 13:26

I'm not keen on orang-utans. I couldn't eat a whole one.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 07/11/2018 14:16

Me an' all. I was racked with guilt, I admit. I mean - he was a vegan - it's not like he'd murdered anyone and we all complained about his kale and butterbean pasties etc

Gremlins!

You are going to have to up your game to beat Vanilla's monkey* biscuit show stopper .

(*I know, I know - they're APES - FFS, can I not even make a casual sweeping statement for once? . . .

. . . . Right - suit yourselves. I'm going out! )

VanillaSugary · 07/11/2018 14:54

Oh - who is AoF and what happened?

Taffeta · 07/11/2018 15:27

AoF = Assassin of Fun

He was on Prof MC and we all took the piss out of him for cooking way out healthy food

Then he got surprisingly knocked out

Then he ran a marathon and died

Sad
SchadenfreudePersonified · 07/11/2018 15:30

Showing you can be TOO healthy Taff

VanillaSugary · 07/11/2018 16:44

And too competitive

I'll happily come runner up to grems as long as he puts spinach and beetroot in his brownies.

SneakyGremlins · 07/11/2018 17:57

I was going to use hand sliced shallots and quinoa.
