I think it was this article that made the suggestion. Probably rubbish but there may be some germ of truth in it somewhere.

PS - what do you call that test for films where the female characters have to have a discussion that isn’t about men? In Our Girl it’s G and M having a discussion that diesn’t Involve doing something stupid that endangers ops / lives / whatever.

eejittwo · 08/11/2018 22:52

No, TG, killing Bones wasn’t the worst decision you ever made, though if it makes Olly feels better ...

eejittwo · 08/11/2018 22:57

PS - remember my storyline where G was knocked into a coma in Kabul and the whole of the end of Nepal and the rest was what seeped into her consciousness from 2 Section’s visits and she wakes up when Elvis knocks a glass of water over her. That way both Bones and Elvis live and, with luck, the obnoxious brat in Nepal is the only casualty.

The Bechdel Test, sometimes called the Mo Movie Measure or Bechdel Rule is a simple test which names the following three criteria: (1) it has to have at least two women in it, who (2) who talk to each other, about (3) something besides a man.

Ilovelblue · 09/11/2018 21:10

I've learned something there eejit.

Has anybody read the parody fanfiction by Hoplite39. A very tongue in cheek look at CJ post Bealize including his love life full of Medics and the various chests of drawers they took with them when they left him. Very funny and heavy on the parody. Nice antidote to the rubbish that was the end of season three. Grin Here

eejittwo · 10/11/2018 17:23

I'd got as far as 'bonded by the death of Bones' before collapsing in hysterics.

kazzaD66 · 10/11/2018 18:17

I really enjoyed it, esp as an antidote to the car crash of the last series Angry It reminded me of the old CJ Collective stories, with the zombies - he's gone off! - and the like. Did Woof write some good parodies, or am I imagining things again Confused

Are we ok for the watchalong tonight ladies?

Evening!

Yes ilove I'll be ready and on parade at 9pm! I can't say the Belize episodes are my favourites although the SF action is quite good. I feel a bit dubious about them because of CJ's sudden need to share his 'bond' with Georgie and the revelation that all's not well with Molly.

I did enjoy that FF parody and, yes, I chortled quite a bit. When I think of that trailer for the second series 'I need a medic!' I just cringe now. I wonder if there's any word on the possibility of another series. I really would like to see the story played out properly. I had to laugh today when I heard one of the political commentators on the radio talking about Brexit and referring to reaching the metaphorical edge of a gorge and having to decide whether to stop or take a run for it and hope to reach the other side. I couldn't help adding - or you could just jump in and leave it up to your imagination as to whether anyone survives!

One little side issue ilove - now we've reached Blackpool - have you got a bet on any competitors this year and, if so, are they still in contention? I reckon Stacey may win unless she has a really bad week or two.

Rhubarb01 · 15/11/2018 19:45

That last bit was, of course, about SCD Glitterball

Ilovelblue · 15/11/2018 20:29

Rhu our bets are Stacey, Joe, Ashley and Faye. We put them on ahead of week 3 I think. We do £5 on each of them and then split any winnings. Well, in actual fact we spend it on a lunch out when we do post-Christmas sales shopping, usually in Manchester. Stacey would bring us in the most cash I think.

I was going to put on here ahead of the 9 pm start that the Belize episodes are totally ridiculous and unbelievable.

I think you're onto a winner with one of those four, ilove. Joe has a massive following and probably gets more votes than the rest put together each week - a lot of people reckon he's odds on to win because of that.

eejittwo · 15/11/2018 20:59

Ready and waiting

Yes, people don't always appreciate that it's not the best dancer necessarily but the most popular.
