Tennis thread: towards the end of the season, lots of tennis still to be played!

Hi all, I wasn't sure if Raahh was around so I thought I would start a new thread (thanks ferrier) in case of any urgent tennis news that we might need to start posting about immediately! I'm looking forward to Shanghai this week

I know AC doesn't commentate for ITV, but I hope they let him go to RG next year. Chartrier is getting a re-fit. He will be be-side himself, discussing , the new seating, and ways to negotiate the Metro.

I wasn't sure how this match would pan out- neither have had it easy (despite Keith's win against Federer)- but Thiem is playing better today.

Did I hear Fergus Murphy earlier telling the ball boy to gather up and bin some Kleenex from under his chair? Those children should be on danger money. It's really not on.

Ugh the tissue thing is gross (as is Brexit). My main issue with the ball kid thing is that - as they're just kids, they're likely to do whatever the ump/player tells them, whether they want to or not. They're probably not going to say "actually I don't want to pick up those germ-riddled tissues thanks Fergus" in front of a massive crowd and on TV. They're being taken advantage of. It's grim and such a bad look for tennis. They have to crack down on it asap!

PS I didn't actually see the match as at work, but that's a good win for Thiem. How could Nishikori pull that out of the hat re Fed and then fall to pieces the rest of the tournament?! Madness.

So Anderson is through and it's between Dom and Fed for the other semi final place, is that right? Definitely going to watch this eve.

He seems to be doing ok now though Private - I know Kevin is through already but I’m sure he’ll still want to make a match of it - he’s played really well this week.

Oh and Kevin has just broken back - Roger is definitely looking more vulnerable these days.

Still not really sure how it all works but it seems that Roger has qualified for semis after winning that first set.

I think it's come down to how many games they've won Fizzy - possibly anyway . I read that if Roger won 5 games or more he'd be through because he'd then have won more games in total than Thiem... or something like that...

I think it's a bit OTT to say Federer is "toying with him"

Annabel just asked Roger is those were his lucky shorts he claims not, says he's not superstitious. A likely story.

I looked it up and it says Anderson and Roger are through and two from the other group will go through and that's the semi final line up. So it looks like Dom is on his way home I think. Or off to the Maldives or whatever they do at this time of year

Jane Great minds think alike!! He would be a great DH wouldn't he?! Crap at cooking and no good with money, would spend all his money on fags etc, but he'd be such a good laugh (and also hot, obviously)

Not to mention stylish knitwear

They repeated some All Creatures Great and Small last year and it was so funny how they got pissed all the time (let's not mention the drunk driving - not much traffic in those days)
