Tennis thread: towards the end of the season, lots of tennis still to be played!

Hi all, I wasn't sure if Raahh was around so I thought I would start a new thread (thanks ferrier) in case of any urgent tennis news that we might need to start posting about immediately! I'm looking forward to Shanghai this week

I do agree with Zverev - although I don’t necessarily agree with how he has said it. There isn’t really any off season for tennis players and they do get exhausted which leads to injuries, retirements and withdrawals from tournaments which isn’t good for anyone.

Pleased that Thiem went through. Just watching a bit of Cilic v Novak - hoping for a Cilic win but can’t really see that happening.

Greg rusedski was saying the other day that he thinks Novak is now even better than when he won all four grand slams which is a scary thought - that hike with Jelena which apparently cleared his mind must have been some hike!

Thank you, both. I think it's going to be ok. Just something they need to keep an eye on. It was only found by accident, because of the pesky kidney stones ( during RG, which seems like last week!).

Sascha has a point, it is too much. There is no time to recover between tournaments, and injuries are exacerbated.

But he does have to check his attitude.

Peter Fleming doesn’t agree that Djokovic is playing better than before - I like Peter Fleming.

Cilic seems to be in the zone - hope it continues.

Zverev needs to start winning more tournaments before he can have such an attitude.

it's the first set Djok has dropped for ages, some one has counted, but I can't remember exactly.

Djok has hit a few double faults but he'll get it together no doubt.

They just showed a clip of him absolutely yelling at his team during the change of ends - he was "asking" for vitamin tablets apparently

Rereading it I think Zverev probably means the top, top players like Rafa, Roger, Novak but he is quite confident - maybe he’s just excusing himself from doing better in Paris.

It's hard to tell '- I'm sure Sascha puts himself in the top bracket, which is fair enough. I quite like that he has that attitude. I'd probably find it annoying in anyone else but I'll let him off!
