Both grans were excellent bakers. I'm sufficient but nowhere near as naturally talented. Neither even possessed scales! All done by hand/eye and 'depending what I've got in' in terms of ingredients - me my Victoria sponges are always lopsided and I CANNOT make scones that rise properly (my baking nemesis!)

Those pastries sound lovely to me but then I like fig rolls and walnut whips so very much my taste spectrum.

I wondered that in the very first week Angel - that or he has had a scald.

I use "claggy" a lot (and "clarty" too) and am trying to introduce these words into Cornwall.
