I still think that the Home Secretary will re-emerge from a safe place when it all blows over.

Home Secretary has definitely died, the writer and her both said so.

But they love pulling the wool over our eyes. I’m not ruling it out!

If the bomb was already under the stage then it means he failed to detect it = death of Home Secretary was his fault = not that likely as I think he is meant to emerge as the hero.

But he's the personal protection office, not the police/bomb squad, he only does the person protection, not the property bomb checks etc.

But, I agree there is a hole in this theory, as there were checks done and it must have been missed - but someone, somewhere is covering up/purposely missing something.

Yup - I see what you mean. That bomb came from somewhere and Kim saw something which made her run - a bomb so well hidden that whoever was meant to sweep the place in preparation for the event didn’t see it wouldn’t have been visible to her eye just before it went off.

So it was on someone or something which was brought in subsequently.

Well after a recommendation from a friend, I've watched the 4 episodes in go.
My theory is the Home Secretary bomb wasn't supposed to kill anyone as it was all set up as a stunt (by Rob Macdonald & Mike Travis) to either make Julia & RIPA 18 look so good that Julia would be a shoo in as the next party leader or it was set up as a stunt (not sure who yet maybe Rob/Mike again) to make Julia & RIPA 18 look bad & cause complete chaos. Unfortunately for Julia, Kim etc the 'let's make a mess bomb' got tampered with/swapped by either someone higher up or someone who is a double agent.
I think this Home Secretary thing is separate to the official terror plot (train/school).

Now I think Nadia knows Tahir or knows of him as she seemed to intimate with her eyes when she saw Tahir's photo. I'm wondering if Tahir and/or Nadia are undercover Mi5?

The blank bullets in Dave's gun, I think he swapped them when he was in a healthy frame of mind just in case, & he's forgotten that he did that. Or maybe his wife Vicky swapped them because she had a fear that he may try to kill himself.

Chanel fits into this somewhere but I'm not sure if she's a red herring.

I think Anne Sampson although mightily pissed off will be the one who will put 2 & 2 together & save the day or try to. I think Anne has got a feeling about something that doesn't make sense & hasn't quite grasped what it is yet.

Also re the bomb under the stage - I think it was under the stage. Or front of stage. Kim ran without shouting - so odd? I don’t think the police have yet worked out where the bomb came from.

Also I’m sure that earlier in the episode slash Dave said that someone else swept the room then later he said he did. Need to go back and check!

Yes..! Julia set up but it was bigger than it was meant to be. Hence her conversation with Dave before the speech - she thought he’d be sacked from his role for not spotting the bomb she planted

Why is Anne Sampsone so very concerned about the Home Sec? Are a group within the SS respondible for the attacks in order to ensure climate of fear and passage of the legislation?

The late girl who rushed to her seat - could she have slipped through? Initially I thought she was suspicious, but now I think she was just late and Dave looking nervously at her was just to get across how twitchy he was about the whole event.

Something on the Home Secretary herself? That she knew about? Or didn't? Either way, it seems unlikely.

I'm a bit stumped about the origin of the bomb. I can't think which of the 'suspects' would have brought it in with them, but also find it hard to believe that the two sweeps of the place wouldn't pick up a pre-planted one.

I have no idea where this is going and I love it

But it depends how 'thorough the searches actually were. I wouldn't put it behind the police or SS, to have planted it after the searches or even told the teams to ignore it.

We were late to the party and only started watching it this week but we are hooked. There seem to be so many holes in the story and so many possible explanations or theories, we literally can’t wait until tonight’s episode
