Can't seem to find a thread.

Looks like a good cast.

Looks promising.

bunzie · 10/09/2018 21:21

I wanted to watch this... can you remind me when it will come on? Thanks.

xsquared · 10/09/2018 21:25

Watching now.

Witchofzog · 10/09/2018 21:29

You will need ITV +1 @Bunzie.

I am enjoying it so far Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/09/2018 21:32

Its recording now. Looks good

MrsGrindah · 10/09/2018 21:35

Not a spoiler...but someone has just written inside a First Edition of Jayne Eyre....my eyes ! My eyes!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 10/09/2018 21:37

I’d have killed him!

5000FingersofDrT · 10/09/2018 21:40

MrsG - not a first edition. A first edition would have been by 'Currer Bell'.

Very poor research there (and I just looked it up on Abe Books - there's a first edition copy for sale on there for £39,000 Grin - that would be some present)

MrsGrindah · 10/09/2018 21:42

I thought they said it was a first edition.or maybe it was free with Grazia magazine

5000FingersofDrT · 10/09/2018 22:02

Yes, they did say it was, but the book they showed (and that he'd written in - sacrilege!) obviously wasn't. It was just an old-ish edition, but I reckon they thought nobody would notice it was all wrong for various reasons.

Quite enjoying the programme otherwise, though!

Xmasbaby11 · 10/09/2018 22:04

I used to live in Hong Kong so loving the scenery! The story is bonkers though - hope they work hard to make it plausible.

Xmasbaby11 · 10/09/2018 22:04

I didn't think Jonah seemed angry or broken enough.

catherinedevalois · 10/09/2018 22:06

Enjoyed it very much! Although I can't see why Jonah was informed about her death, the authorities already had a husband! Unless I missed a crucial bit of course, I was in and out a lot Confused

CurlyhairedAssassin · 10/09/2018 22:07

Yes the book thing annoyed me, too.

Can someone explain whose phone he wanted the charger for? I thought it was his own and that in the rush to leave England he’s forgotten his charger. But that doesn’t explain why he only gets the voice mail from her with the gunshot noise AFTER he gets to Hong Kong! A policeman in the U.K. told him his wife had died, surely we’re not supposed to believe that the battery on his phone was already dead at that point?

Don’t get it!

catherinedevalois · 10/09/2018 22:08

Yes, good point

CurlyhairedAssassin · 10/09/2018 22:09

Oh Catherine, I hadn’t even thought of that but yes, bonkers! Why would the Hong Kong authorities even know of his existence?

divafever99 · 10/09/2018 22:09

The policeman in England said they had trying to get hold of him on his mobile, so maybe the battery was dead then. But surely he would have charged it up before traveling to Hong Kong? It doesn't make sense!

CurlyhairedAssassin · 10/09/2018 22:13

Yep, you’d think of your wife had just died and you were travelling to a different country you’d make sure your phone was charged up for the journey. You have to wait ages after check in before boarding and there are places to charge your phone In the airport. Doesn’t he have friends and family who would have been in contact with him via his phone in those terrible circumstances?

The woman (presumably his Sister) who dropped him at the airport?

CurlyhairedAssassin · 10/09/2018 22:15

It looks like it might be bollocks but I’m enjoying Hong Kong so will watch the next episode to see if the anomalies are exokaijed

CurlyhairedAssassin · 10/09/2018 22:15

Explained, even!

CurlyhairedAssassin · 10/09/2018 22:22

How come John Simm was the one identifying her body if her real husband was there?

DH reckons all these things which look so silly now will be explained as time goes on. I dunno.....

FawnDrench · 10/09/2018 23:33

Thought it was an intriguing opener.

But his bloody cream jacket needs a damn good wash by now...

troodiedoo · 11/09/2018 07:48

enjoyed this, I had all the same concerns as have been mentioned though! re: him being notified, his phone, writing in the book. also think that may be the first time they've shown a topless corpse on terrestrial tv. bit gruesome.

after the disappointing ending of keeping faith, I'm extra cautious. but the impressive cast and slick shots of Hong Kong should be enough to hold my interest.

dalmatianmad · 11/09/2018 14:11

Following with interest. Wasn't impressed with the 1st one. Let's see what happens next week!

CurlyhairedAssassin · 11/09/2018 20:37

The other thing was, in the hotel bar I think it was, he was looking through his “wife’s” Hong Kong mobile and could magically get past the lock screen and look at her photos of her with her Hong Kong husband.

I wouldn’t know how to get into my DH’s iPhone and it’s sitting here in the same house. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have a clue how to get into a secret phone the other side of the world.
