Private I had a feeling that would be the case.

It is looking likely that Djok could take the number one spot at some point later in the year. If he wins tomorrow, he will be 1000 points behind Rafa in the Race to London. Assuming he plays Shanghai, and Paris (and stands a good chance at both) that's 2000 points.

He's player in the Laver Cup- He is isn't scheduled to play Beijing (he doesn't playing many 'smaller' tournaments'.).

In the main rankings, Delpo, if he wins tomorrow, is close to over taking Roger.

John Colt Grin

Some names sound so much better in their original language - my married surname sounds exotic, no-one can pronounce it.

Means - 'Smith' Grin

I'm not bothered about Djok being no. 1 if it means Rafa makes a full recovery.

Agree Jane. The longer Rafa can play, the better. That's definitely the right priority!!

FlamingJuno · 08/09/2018 18:56

Nobody interested in Jamie's win? He's lovely.

Raahh · 08/09/2018 18:57

Jane that's a good point.

I am not looking forward to the day he retires .Sad

Flaming yes just been watching it - mentioned it earlier. Found it a bit odd to decide such a huge title on a match tiebreak though, did you?

Pleased for Jamie, and BMS after her awful injury last year.

Also, he said happy 75th birthday to Judy?!? Haha presume he was joking!!

Mama1980 · 08/09/2018 19:39

I've only just got in so missed the doubles, am pleased for Jamie.

GrouchyKiwi · 08/09/2018 20:01

I caught the end of the doubles. The tie breaker was weird. I'm now watching the men's wheelchair semi final. The stands are nearly empty. It's a good contest.

FlamingJuno · 08/09/2018 20:42

I'm undecided on the match tie-break as yet private. It's a bit like deciding the World Cup on penalties isn't it. Having said that, I think it's time to ditch the 5 set format for the men.
Well done to Jamie and BM-S, great comeback for her.

PrivateParkin · 08/09/2018 21:02

Yes, it just seems too short to me - just two sets and then the tie break. I don't know. Good for Jamie though - 6 grand slams is a pretty decent effort.

Am tuned in for the women's. Why do they advertise 9pm start and then not start then?! V annoying!

PrivateParkin · 08/09/2018 21:05

It looks like they have the roof closed?? It's supposed to rain tomorrow as well.

PrivateParkin · 08/09/2018 21:08

I'm Every Woman is about to be sung on court?!?

Greg showing his knowledge of rom-coms there Grin

PrivateParkin · 08/09/2018 21:18

Wow - kind of a glare-off at the net Shock

FlamingJuno · 08/09/2018 21:38

Yes roof is closed. Osaka holding her own, but Serena sometimes does start slow. Could be a great match.

GrouchyKiwi · 08/09/2018 21:38

Early break for Osaka! This is cool.

MirandaWest · 08/09/2018 21:43

Osaka looks like the first set will be hers. Will it be like Wimbledon I wonder?

FlamingJuno · 08/09/2018 21:45

I take it back, Osaka is on the run...more than holding her own!

JaneJeffer · 08/09/2018 21:46

Come on Osaka!

PrivateParkin · 08/09/2018 21:49

Wow this is unexpected...

TokyoSushi · 08/09/2018 21:50

Chocking in! Oh Serena...

Mama1980 · 08/09/2018 21:50

Yay Come on Osaka!

Raahh · 08/09/2018 21:50

I have been watching X Factor
Grin

I am delighted by the scoreline.

Come on , Osaka!!

Mama1980 · 08/09/2018 21:51

Was not expecting this score line

FlamingJuno · 08/09/2018 21:51

I want Osaka to do well and make a match of it, but I want Serena to win so that the repellent Margaret Court can be consigned to history.
