I've just watched the bunion clip again on 5 on demand.
The entire chat is them speaking nicely to each other, and in nice soft relaxed voices.
It starts with Sally saying about her shoes killing her. Then "These shoes...I'd walk on [stage] holding a man's shoulder..."
H: They dont look a good fit, to be honest.
S: You know why? Because Ben wore them while he was doing a performance with Roxy.
H: Oh, that bunion.
S: I know, darling.
H: That's got to hurt, hasnt it?
S: Well it... Cos I dont wear high heels a lot. Like, only onstage.
H: I'd have thought that would have hurt even more then - unaccustomed. A bunion can grow into the shoes you wear. You know what I mean?
S: If I do, like, seven days away,by the time i go home it's like "agh" - but what can you do? The only way is, I've got to have that knocked off.
H: It can be done.
S: Well, yeah, but it's another three months in a boot.
H: IS it??
S: Yeah!
H: A bunion - three months?
S: Yeah! It is, really, to heal. "We can rebuild you."
[She looks across at Dan and Ryan. ]
Dan: "What was that?"
S: He wants me to get my bunion done now.
H: I didnt tell you to get your bunion done!
S: No, I know you never. [pats his leg reassuringly]
S: But he says... [pause] I have got a bunion.
H: I wouldnt change you. Not that I'd have any agency in that decision.
RYAN: Getting on so well tonight, arent you?!
S: Oh, no, we are. [Pats H's leg again] To Hardeep, everyone.
And they all raise a glass to H being saved again.
The tones of voice they are using, it actually seemed like they were getting on well and having a civilised chat. I don't see or hear anything in that chat that H could be accused of being a prick!
And she doesnt react in any way AT ALL. She pats his leg and speaks nicely and explains stuff.
Then goes and bitches about him to Ryan.
