Anyone else watching?

PawneeParksDept · 10/09/2018 21:28

Me but I'm behind by about 15 mins

Elderflower14 · 10/09/2018 21:34

Okay. Won't spoil anything..

esk1mo · 10/09/2018 21:37

@elderflower14 was that the one where the brother was at the scene? ive never seen someone break down like that Sad

Elderflower14 · 10/09/2018 21:43

@esk1mo. If you mean the roundabout one. Yes!

MrsJayy · 10/09/2018 21:58

Yes I am watching won't say anything but god its hard going

Nothisispatrick · 10/09/2018 21:58

Oh wow. Haven’t cried like this at tv in a while!

Jeffers3 · 10/09/2018 21:59

Was any one else shouting at the telly?!

fireplacetiles · 10/09/2018 21:59

What a lucky man to be so loved by his family, what great tv.

Elderflower14 · 10/09/2018 22:09

Someone must have been helping him. His phone wouldn't have kept charged all that time!

howardmoonseyebrow · 10/09/2018 22:24

Really felt for the family

Urbanbeetler · 10/09/2018 22:32

The guy he rang at 4.30am who said on text that he didn’t know him was probably helping him a bit at the start.

I found this a very moving programme. It showed the ghastly heritage of childhood abuse, destroying the self worth of an obviously good and loved man years and years later.

MissEliza · 10/09/2018 22:41

The story of the man whose car was found in the middle of a roundabout was horrible and unforgettable. I'll always remember the image of his brother arriving at the scene. What a tragedy.

PawneeParksDept · 10/09/2018 22:46

Was that the first series?

I felt with George they didn't take the family's word for his MH until they got the external report

Bit disrespectful

DickVanTyke · 10/09/2018 23:18

Can someone please tell me what happened to Tracy the 'fake mother'? I missed the sentence bit

Mrskeats · 10/09/2018 23:20

The one where she pretended to have a son? She got 2 years

DickVanTyke · 10/09/2018 23:32

Yes, thanks. I'm glad she got a prison sentence, but I'm disappointed that she was probably only away for a year. She devestated that man, and I'm sure his family as well and fraudulently took thousands of pounds from him. It seems pretty lenient to me!

Mrskeats · 10/09/2018 23:34

Yep I agree. Dreadful. Plus I bet she was claiming child benefit etc too.
That poor man; been thinking about him since.

PawneeParksDept · 10/09/2018 23:35

With John I was wondering if he got the money back in a form of criminal compensation ?

The loss he'll never get over it'd be as a bereavement

Mrskeats · 10/09/2018 23:38

That’s a point pawnee I hope so
I just don’t get why you would do that to someone.
Even the police woman was crying when she read the letter and they must have seen a lot.

headinhands · 11/09/2018 14:49

I was really moved by this last night but this afternoon I find myself wondering how people decide to have 1, 2, 3 and so on children knowing that they'll probably watch the alcoholic parent put the other and then through so much agony.

headinhands · 11/09/2018 14:49

I feel awful thinking that but I can't understand. If you love them so much but know they'll bring you a lot of heartache why bring others into the situation?

SouthWestmom · 11/09/2018 23:13

Just watched yesterday's. I didn't find it as engaging at all, just frustrated at George. Maybe having been married to an alcoholic makes me less sympathetic/ more hard hearted?

PawneeParksDept · 11/09/2018 23:27

No Noeuf I was also a bit unsympathetic towards George

SouthWestmom · 11/09/2018 23:29

Thanks pawnee I can see he has issues but the self pity rang too many bells. Mine disappeared and did the whole I was going to kill myself thing.
