I just wanted to see if anyone else has watched this? I had never heard of it and stumbled across it on Netflix. It is SO GOOD! I binge watched the entire two seasons this week. As long as you don’t mind subtitles you should give it a whirl. It is recent 2017 & 2018. So many very famous Swedish actors and comedians of both sexes. The characters are very realistic and highly developed and I liked how honest and real the relationships between parents and children were. The humor was great as well, so many very funny situations and interactions that were also believable.

Has anyone watched it and wants to chat about Lisa and Patrik?

ooh - this is just the sort of thing I was looking for. Going to bath and ready myself for a night of watching

See what you mean about well written - lovely to see a teenage daughter not portrayed as hideous, and similarly both the sons are shown to have a soft side. And the two therapists....

mrwalkensir · 15/08/2018 22:58

and too funny when the subtitles are so much politer than what you can hear being said - just had "for Christ's sake avoid it" subtitled as "no, not at all"

We are now half way through the first episode and enjoying it very much thank you for the suggestion

Hurrah!! I’m so glad! Had total radio silence when I posted and wondered if I was their only viewer in the Western Hemisphere who wasn’t Swedish. Yes, I really appreciate the portrayal of everyone, especially the children. No one is demonized and everyone is well-rounded and realistic, I do like the humour, I’m dying to discuss some of the really funny bits but will have to wait until you have all finished so I don’t ruin it!

I love so may of the characters like Lisa’s ex’s mum, what is her name? I

I am half way through season 2. Thanks for the recommendation. It is so good. Funny and truthful. Who I like and dislike changes with every episode. Sometimes during an episode. No one is wholly good or bad (just like real life). I am more of a Katja than a Lisa.

Movablefeast · 26/08/2018 03:55

The actress who plays Katja is a famous comedian and presenter in Sweden, she has presented the European Song Contest a number of times with U.K. presenters. So I get the impression she is playing very against type.

Sometimes Lisa was driving me a bit nuts with her anxious need to have everyone bond all the time when it was too soon and unrealistic. Maybe it was guilt from leaving her marriage? You get the impression that she and Patrik had got together and moved in together very quickly. I still think it’s a great series I binge watched and was sad to come to the end of the 2nd series. I hope they do another series. Is Katja together with the Judo instructor? Can’t remember his name but I thought he was a sexy beast!!!

Ooh thank you for the tips!
I live in Sweden and hadn’t heard of these. Going to give it a watch as Swedish tv with English subtitles helps language learning :-)
