Alma is far too good for priggish Ken or Toadish Mike.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 01/04/2019 17:34

Alma does marry Mike though, doesn't she? My memory plays tricks on me, but I'm sure she ended up as Alma Baldwin.

Is the present-day Roy's Rolls the same café premises?

It looks completely the wrong way round to me, but I suppose they could have had a refit. Can't imagine they would have repositioned the stairs though - and built on a new food prep area at the back......

Isn't Alma just lovely? She reminds me so endearingly of several women in my Lancashire family who were so tired of men messing them about! She is so true to life.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 01/04/2019 17:39

And Alma is beautiful! Those amazing eyes, and that ethereal cloud of hair fascinate me whenever she's onscreen.

x2boys · 01/04/2019 17:45

No roys rolls is a different cafe ,I can't remember how it happened but I think Alma sold her share to roy at some point and for reasons that escape they moved location?

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 01/04/2019 17:47

Alma does marry Mike and then he has a fling with a buyer from another factory in think.

DixieLandReject · 01/04/2019 21:47

Terry is looking rather nice today Grin

BillyBadBreaks · 03/04/2019 18:03

Can't really join in with discussions here 'cos it's too long ago to remember first time around and I'm about 100 episodes behind now. Just wanted to stop by to say I think I prefer Classic Corrie to modern. More character driven and less crazy story lines.

Iwantacampervan · 03/04/2019 20:52

Me too - I often make the mistake of watching Classic Corrie and then modern Corrie on catch up.

x2boys · 04/04/2019 08:52

He was a good looking man ,shame he put on so much weight Nigel.Pivaro that is.

DixieLandReject · 04/04/2019 21:40

Ha ha Bet arranging for Sherry to come and meet Alec’s ‘mother’ Grin

Housewife2010 · 04/04/2019 22:08

Lisa's hair with the fronds in front of her ears still annoys me 27 years on.

Rockmeamaryllis · 05/04/2019 14:56

Why doesn’t anyone in classic Corrie use their front room? Why is Ken in the back room? I’m sure Blanche used the front room for her bedroom?

Rockmeamaryllis · 05/04/2019 14:58

And couldn’t either Andy or Steve move into theirs to stop the arguments?

SapatSea · 05/04/2019 15:23

I have always wondered about the lack of front rooms being seen. We see Sally and Kev's but that's about it and what is the set up at Rita's house (that Angie and Curly rent). It has 2 bedrooms but in the front room has double glass doors opening onto what? The hallway and outside window? or another room?

Kannet · 05/04/2019 18:09

We need some floor plans

OP posts:
Iwantacampervan · 05/04/2019 18:23

I think the only house without a separate front room is Ivy's (now Chesney's, shown from a different side and brightened up a lot!)

justthecat · 05/04/2019 18:28

Bet showing Alec up, pretending to be his mother had me laughing out loud

x2boys · 05/04/2019 18:44

May be they use the front roo.s for best?My Grandparents brought up.did kids in a three bed terrace but they never used the front room as it was just for show Confused

x2boys · 05/04/2019 18:44

Six kids*

DixieLandReject · 05/04/2019 20:54

I’m dreading Bet and Alec splitting up Sad

x2boys · 06/04/2019 08:58

I know Dixie they make such a great partnership don't they?

x2boys · 06/04/2019 11:03

I loved the scenes where Andy was trying to speak to his girlfriend on the phone reminiscent of a time before everyone had mobiles, kids of today will never know of the horrors of trying to arrange a date with your entire family trying to eaves drop 😂

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 07/04/2019 00:52

I love Bet and Alec!

Why would Mavis need to buy a new radio/cassette for a company car? It doesn't make sense to me.

And, isn't it lovely to watch people getting on with their lives without mobile phones!

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 08/04/2019 17:54

Tracyluv's murderous tendencies made an early appearance in today's second episode.

She described to Steve her dreams about bumping off Wendy Crozier!

DixieLandReject · 08/04/2019 20:13

Jack asking Raquel to bend over for the pale ale ! Shock
